On 12/3/25 after taking a test drive on a 2026 CRV Honda I came to a verbal agreement with the salesman, Richard Robinson, and his Manager. I was told that the car would arrive at the dealership if a final I came to a verbal agreement with the salesman, Richard Robinson, and his Manager. I was told that the car would arrive at the dealership if a final agreement was reached and that the price for the car was approved by his Manager. I returned to the dealership 2 days later on 12/5/25 and met with Robinson. He informed me that the car had arrived and was in a lot in Oceanside, NY. We discussed the final details and he told me to sign a BLANK CONRACT saying, “This is the way we do it here”. I signed it with the assumption that he would insert the numbers that we agreed upon. I subsequently learned that Robinsons request for me to sign a blank contract is not legal in New York State. I also asked if they could include winter mats with the sale. He took the contract to his Manager, who was unknown to me at the time. I waited approximately 25 minutes and upon his return he showed me two worksheets, the first one was the one we agreed to and the second had different figures showing a substantial increase. I questioned the figures and was told that the bottom line was the same amount. This was not true. I questioned him further and he told me the first worksheet was just an offer by me for the car and the second was what the Manager said he would sell the car for. Robinson stated that both worksheets did not include mats and if I wanted them it would be an additional $600.00 which I thought was an unreasonable amount. I asked to speak with his Manager. Robinson did not respond. I proceeded to an individual who I saw Robinson talking to previously that I assumed was his Manager. Being upset, I told him that he is a crook for changing the numbers. He said, “Get Out” in a high voice. I asked for his name and he responded again, “Get Out or I will call the police”. I informed him that I took that as a threat. He picked up the phone but did not dial a number. I informed him that I will call the police as I took his response as a threat to me. I called the police and informed the Desk Sergeant of the situation. I was told not to escalate the matter and it was best to leave. The Sergeant told me I was allowed by law to take a photo of him if possible. At this time the Manager was trying to hide but I did manage to get a photo of him. Upon leaving I informed him that I will find out his name and post my experience on the Internet. Using the photo, I took of him and doing Internet research I was able to identify him as Jay Rosenthal, General Manager of Valley Stream Honda. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH HIM. He will not discuss any business with a customer and will have his salespeople relay his instructions. In this case it appeared that Robinson just followed Rosenthal’s instructions even though it contained false information and trickery. It appeared that Robinson was just protecting his job. What a shame. After leaving the showroom I called Honda Valley Stream parts department to get a price for winter mats and was quoted a price of $204.00. Trying to charge me triple the price for mats is outrageous. By the way, I am currently a Honda owner and purchased the car from Valley Stream Honda and had my Honda serviced at their service center in Valley Stream. Overall, I was satisfied back then but recall that I was not allowed to speak to a Manager regarding the sale. I believe that Valley Stream Honda does not recognize customer loyalty and that Rosenthal was not only arrogant, nasty, unprofessional, unethical but also violated New York State law regarding this matter. If you decide to buy a car from them ask the salesperson who the Manager is and if it is Rosenthal, STAY CLEAR. BUYER BEARE. More

In 2022, I went to Acura Valley Stream with the goal of driving away in a car. Instead, I ended up with multiple credit inquiries and no vehicle. Jay and his team were committed to rectifying the situation after all this time. I was invited to the dealership by the manager and welcomed by a team of customer service-focused employees. Brittany Brown, the Finance Manager, went to great lengths to ensure that I left the dealership satisfied. After three years, I can safely say I am now happy with the car I’m driving and the exceptional service received. More
