Ask yourself, "How much honesty is at play when you spend over 6 hours at a dealership purchasing a vehicle?" I spent over 6 hours at this dealership trying to buy a car. This is not an opinion, this is a over 6 hours at a dealership purchasing a vehicle?" I spent over 6 hours at this dealership trying to buy a car. This is not an opinion, this is a factual statement of the amount of time I spent trying to buy a vehicle on August 1st 2023. Over the 6 hours I was there, I fought tooth-and-nail to get an honest deal, by doing so, I consistently identified numerous lies, inconsistencies, and crucial information omitted, which explains why I was there for over 6 hours. Had I went to Peoria Subaru, smiled, nodded, and said "Yes" to every statement made to me, then I would have been out of the dealership within 90 minutes, and committed to an objectively bad financial agreement from the perspective of a consumer, and an objectively amazing financial agreement from the persecutive of the dealership. When the Peoria Subaru receptionist called me to ask for feedback, I communicated to her clearly that I felt 6 hours at a dealership was unreasonable, and that I felt an overwhelming sense that deceptive tactics were used the entire time I was there, her exact response was "I'm sorry you feel that way, congratulations on your new vehicle!" The vehicle I purchased, a "certified pre owned" 2020 Subaru Outback with 12000 miles, failed to start just 4 days after I purchased it. When I called the salesman that sold me the vehicle, his first response was "Well, did you buy the warranty?" Ultimately, Peoria Subaru repaired the vehicle, but only after 4 back-and-forth phone calls where I had to make the case over-and-over again that a breakdown just 4 days after purchasing was a little unreasonable. Just like the sales process itself, I had to fight tooth-and-nail just for Peoria Subaru to do the write thing. I have filed complaints with both BBB and Subaru of America. I emailed Peoria Subaru executive management outlining, very specific dates, times, and specific statements said to me by Peoria Subaru employees. I genuinely attempted to contact Peoria Executive management to address my concerns WITHOUT posting a review, and without filing complaints. This review and all complaints stem solely as result of Peoria Subaru Executive management, in a phone call with me on 9/11/2023, where Peoria Subaru denied any wrong doing, failed to even understand or acknowledge any of my concerns (whether right or wrong) and instead placed the blame on me for being at Peoria Subaru for 6 hours. The only solutions Peoria Subaru offered me were to "refund me the purchase amount of 4 oil changes" valued somewhere approximating $250.00 and to allow me to purchase an additional warranty "at dealer cost." These are not solutions. More importantly, Peoria Subaru simply ignored all concerns. I cannot speak for Peoria Subaru as a whole, and cannot claim that the dealership as a whole is corrupt. However, I can speak with absolute confidence that in my specific experience, every Peoria Subaru employee I interacted with intentionally left out crucial information, or intentionally avoided answering simple questions, with the hopes that I would not notice, or care. So, I ask you again; How much honesty is at play when you spend over six hours at a dealership? The best-case scenario answer is “Not much honesty.” If you want my answer, the answer is actually, “No honesty is at play when you spend 6 hours at a dealership.” More
