I purchased a 2024 Ram 2500 diesel from Cox Chevrolet, and the dealership installed the wrong engine oil (15W-40) during service. According to a Ram Technical Service Bulletin, this oil should not be used and the dealership installed the wrong engine oil (15W-40) during service. According to a Ram Technical Service Bulletin, this oil should not be used in this engine because it can cause engine damage. After noticing abnormal engine noise, I contacted a local Ram dealership. They informed me that using 15W-40 in this engine can cause damage and may void the powertrain warranty. Cox Chevrolet eventually changed the oil to the correct specification, but they refuse to acknowledge the potential damage or undo the deal. They are acting as though the issue is resolved simply because the oil was replaced, despite the fact that the engine may have already experienced damage and the warranty could be affected. I am seeking a proper resolution to this issue, as I purchased a new truck that may already have engine damage due to incorrect service performed by the selling dealership. More

They sold me a truck with engine damage because they use the wrong oil. I bought a 2024 Ram 2500 with the diesel engine and they installed 15W40 oil. Cox Chevrolet refuses to undo the deal they change the oil with the correct oil and are acting like everything is fine. After speaking with the local Ram dealership they said that the wrong oil would cause it to void the powertrain warranty and cause engine damage and potentially engine failure. They do not want to help me address the situation other than the oil change that they already did. More

1-Star Review LIE, CHEAT, & STEAL I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at this dealership. I brought my 2021 Silverado in for a recurring transmission issue for a second time, after keepin disappointed with my experience at this dealership. I brought my 2021 Silverado in for a recurring transmission issue for a second time, after keeping the truck for 6 days, they refused to diagnose or fix the problem, since the symptoms could no longer be duplicated (magically). The truck has harsh, abnormal shifting again and it’s getting worse. This seems like a deliberate effort to avoid warranty responsibility. No meaningful repair attempts (on the record for the 2nd visit), no accountability, and no concern for long-term damage to the vehicle. This is not a minor complaint — it’s a drivetrain issue that directly affects reliability and safety. If you value honesty & expect a dealership to stand behind their vehicles and address legitimate mechanical issues, I do not recommend this place. I was born and raised in Bradenton and the more I talk to people who’ve been around here for a while, the more I hear this type of crooked business is not uncommon for this dealership. Because this dealership refuses to take responsibility, I will be escalating this issue to GM Corporate and opening a formal case. General Motors should be aware that this service department is failing customers and damaging confidence in the brand. I’ve had this truck for just over a year and already I am done with Chevy. Cox just might make a Ford man out of me yet! If GM expects customers to remain loyal, dealerships like this need to be held accountable. I would strongly advise others to document everything and be prepared to go beyond the dealership if you experience similar treatment. More
