I gave a poor rating because this dealership was dishonest. The salesperson and I finally agreed upon a price for the car. I had signed all the papers, my license plate had been switched to my new dishonest. The salesperson and I finally agreed upon a price for the car. I had signed all the papers, my license plate had been switched to my new car, and I was finalizing the sale with the finance person. When the finance person told me my monthly payment it didn't match what we had talked about at the sales table, it was roughly $40 higher per month. I couldn't figure what had happened so I crunched the numbers myself-it was a good thing I did. First off, they tried to include the sales tax, title, and registration into the financing, which I explicitly told them I didn't want. After these 3 items were removed, the monthly payment was still about $20 higher per month than what we agreed upon at the sales table. So I went through the numbers again. It turns out they were including my trade-in, in the cost we had agreed upon for the price of the car only. In other words, they had given me a price for my trade and they had given me a price for the car, but after everything was signed the tried to tell me the price we settled on was for the car and trade. It absolutely was not! I have little doubt this is a common tactic used by this dealership and maybe others as well. I was informed by the finance person the sales people were no longer willing to negotiate with me-it was basically a take it or leave it offer . . . and I left it. My advice: when buying or leasing, make sure the numbers add up. I know the car buying process is emotional, but take your time and be thorough. If something doesn't make sense, speak up! And always be willing to walk away. More
