Brought my Jetta Diesel in for service with a check engine light illuminated. The service department diagnosed the problem as being a particulate filter (not the oil filter) that needed changing. Reason for appt, car display says time for oil change. Service writer says not needed, due in Dec, year after I leased the car, but 2 recalls are due, and can be done, and were done. In Jan this year, when I leased the car, I was told that service would be due in a year, but if the car told me that it needed oil change, I thought the car knew better...anyways, I did not waste my trip after all. Having said that, I have more to say. When I grade 3 stars is because everybody has done the job they are being paid to do, no more, no less. To me, 3 stars is not bad. Let me say something, besides the issue of the oil change, I would have thought that every time a car is in for service, a courtesy inspection of the whole car, should be done, but I did not see that in the ticket. Something else to think about...I dealt with the VW dealer in Melbourne several times, and every time I did, they washed the car as a courtesy. I am not saying YOU have to do that, but that's a good PR/customer relations thing to do. More
