Dear Hyundai Corporate Team, I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding our experience with one of your Hyundai dealerships in Schenectady NY. This was especially disappointing because this was serious concerns regarding our experience with one of your Hyundai dealerships in Schenectady NY. This was especially disappointing because this was our third vehicle purchase through a Hyundai dealership, and we have always returned expecting honesty, transparency, and that our best interests would be considered. What makes this situation even more concerning is that our two previous vehicles purchased through Hyundai both had GAP insurance. Because we had purchased GAP coverage on our previous vehicles, I had every reason to believe that we were doing the same thing when we purchased our most recent vehicle. However, I later learned that during the purchase process, a sales representative Dalton Hunter reportedly pulled my partner aside and advised him not to get GAP insurance. He was told that New York would automatically cover the remaining balance in the event of an accident and that GAP insurance was therefore unnecessary. Dalton also advised since we purchased many diff warranties that gap was not needed. I was not present for or aware of this conversation he had with my partner Amene. I was under the clear impression that when we left the dealership, our new vehicle had GAP insurance, especially because we had purchased it on our previous two vehicles. It was not until after our accident that we discovered we did not have this coverage. Unfortunately, we were later involved in a serious car accident that was not our fault. The other driver was found to be 100% at fault. We then discovered that we did not have GAP insurance, and we are now left with approximately $10,000 remaining on the vehicle loan. This has created an enormous financial hardship for us. The $10,000 balance will remain on our credit report, and because of this debt, we have been denied financing for another vehicle. Per Jeremiah, he told us to take out another loan to cover the remaining debt that was not covered from the insurance. All because Dalton is releasing false information not sure of his intentions or if they get paid extra on the side. However, the little chump change he makes he is ruining people’s lives. Without reliable transportation, we are struggling to get to and from work, and our employment is now at risk. This situation is affecting our ability to maintain our income and meet our everyday financial responsibilities. We have been spending over $650 a week in rentals and relying on food pantries for a meal just so we can get to work. We have been forced into an extremely difficult position through no fault of our own. We were involved in an accident where the other driver was found 100% at fault, yet we are now left carrying a significant debt and dealing with the consequences of information we relied upon during the vehicle purchase. Because of our history of purchasing GAP insurance on our previous two Hyundai vehicles, I feel it is especially important to investigate why we left the dealership believing this vehicle was properly protected when it was not. We trusted the information provided by the dealership and its employees. We understand that insurance decisions can involve individual responsibility; however, dealership employees also have a responsibility to provide customers with accurate information, particularly when advising them about a product that could have such serious financial consequences. Misinformation about GAP insurance can have a lasting impact on people's lives, credit, employment, and financial stability. In our case, the consequences have been devastating. Had we been given accurate information and fully understood that GAP insurance could protect us from being responsible for the remaining loan balance after a total loss, we would have absolutely made a different decision. We are respectfully asking Hyundai Corporate to review our purchase transaction and thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the conversation between the sales repre More

I leased a vehicle with this dealership for three years before exchanging that vehicle for another Hyundai and an additional three year lease. After the first appointment for the second lease, I receiv before exchanging that vehicle for another Hyundai and an additional three year lease. After the first appointment for the second lease, I received no less than 15 phone calls from four different people about renewing. At the first appointment, we had selected the vehicle (what I thought would’ve been the hard part. Yet, the second appointment to actually renew the lease took five hours. What an ordeal: the music was blaring and relentless and the inside of the dealership uncomfortable and warm. After three hours of waiting, the sales manager Kwame wouldn’t take no for an answer on upselling me an extended warranty. I finally left with the keys two hours later. Leaving I told myself that I’d never do that again. A month later, I’m still receiving phone calls about renewing the lease and the bad taste has not left. When will it stop? More
This is by far the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. The service department are so rude the staff have no idea what they are doing. I had a problem with my drivers side door handle not locking whe with. The service department are so rude the staff have no idea what they are doing. I had a problem with my drivers side door handle not locking when touched. They ordered new part. When I went to get it installed after driving an hour they said they had to send it out to get painted and never called before I drove all the way there. Then they called back to tell me it’s painted, drove down again to then tell me they ordered the wrong handle said they would have it within a few days. It’s been over two weeks. I refused to drive back down again and wanted them to pick up car and give me loaner. Mona Lisa in service said they don’t give loaners. Also when I called to see if part was in Seema told me that she doesn’t work for Parts she works for Service ride and hung up on me. They don’t call you back, give you run around. I had to finally deal with GM to get any th ing done and still a runaround. I will not be doing business with them again. Also my son got a car from there recently and was a complete bad experience for his first car purchase ever. When my lease is up I will be going elsewhere. More
I called the Service Dept today to make an appointment - the person I spoke was very rude, put me on hold and then I was disconnected - called back and spoke with someone else. She wasn't very helpful, but the person I spoke was very rude, put me on hold and then I was disconnected - called back and spoke with someone else. She wasn't very helpful, but at least she was not rude. There is the 4th time I have called to try and schedule service. Not very happy. I purchased the car there and I am having problems so naturally I want to have it fixed there. At this point I may have to consider going to another Hyundai dealership - not sure. The customer service from the Service Dept leaves alot to be desifred. More
Had a great experience yesterday with the purchase of the new Hyundai elentra with Vinny! Service was great and they really worked out a good deal for me and the BIL. Vinny was very concise and thoughtful of new Hyundai elentra with Vinny! Service was great and they really worked out a good deal for me and the BIL. Vinny was very concise and thoughtful of our needs and price range for the car. He knows his stuff and I am really glad he was my sales person. He even went with me to Glenville to get the BIL paperwork signed and got me a good deal on my trade in. I would do it again if Vinny was my sales person thank you! More
Our circumstances forced us to bring our car to Matthews by tow truck. On our way back home to Maryland our transmission started leaking fluid. Couldn't drive our Tuscan. Although we arrived at the dealersh by tow truck. On our way back home to Maryland our transmission started leaking fluid. Couldn't drive our Tuscan. Although we arrived at the dealership around 1:45 pm, Monalisa, the service coordinator, worked her magic to get us in. Stan had our car fixed in about 2 1/2 hours. Honest evaluation of the problem and NO PENCIL WHIP. Even the showroom dealer (Joshua) was kind and extremely helpful. We were treated with respect and concern for our dilemma. Very happy we wound up at Matthews. Lois and Michael Begly More
