I had gone to or called four other VW dealerships before visiting The Autobarn Volkswagen of Countryside. I had a terrible, no, horrible experience with the other four dealerships trying to buy a 2020 Jett visiting The Autobarn Volkswagen of Countryside. I had a terrible, no, horrible experience with the other four dealerships trying to buy a 2020 Jetta and was reluctant to try a fifth. Something pushed me to give VW of Countryside a try. I went there one day during my lunch hour and walked in. The first person I encountered was Matt Lichosyt. He was a younger salesperson who wore a face mask, something I appreciated, as did all the staff on hand. Matt immediately stood up from his desk and asked if he could assist me. First thing I noticed was his demeanor, politeness and his eagerness to help. You have to know me, I'm a buyer that knows what I want and do not want to be given the "salesman" lingo or pitch. Not Matt, professional from the moment I walked in!! I told Matt what I was looking for and he assisted without asking me a million questions. Matt showed me vehicles with the options I wanted and we briefly discussed ballpark pricing. They did not have the color or options I wanted and Matt worked on trying to locate one through dealer trading. Since I was on a time limit (lunch), I told him I'd think about it and would let him know if he should dealer trade a Jetta in the color I wanted. Early the very next day, I received a text message from Matt letting me know another dealer wanted one of their vehicles and Matt made sure the management traded them for a silver Jetta with the options I wanted. He even sent me a picture of the vehicle which still had the white vinyl paint protector on it. I was impressed yet again. I told Matt I'd be in after work so I can look at the car, discuss pricing and financing. As I pulled up, Matt saw my truck and he met me at the door. Impressed again! Fast forward, I bought the vehicle. and financed through the dealership. Matt introduced Eddie Jasim, Sales Manager, who was a great guy and had similar attributes as Matt. Not pushy, a true gentleman who took the time to have a conversation, and believe me I can talk, and to tell me they'd work hard to ensure I obtained a great interest rate. The rate I received was fantastic, better than expected, as was the entire buying process. I highly recommend VW of Countryside, who happens to own the Subaru dealer next door (for those in the market for a Subaru). The facility was clean and comfortable and had hand sanitizer readily available. To top things off, since I had driven my vehicle there, Matt offered to drive my Jetta to my house and have a porter pick him up. I left and a short time later Matt arrived with my new car and a gift of two key chains. I've bought a number of vehicles over the course of my life and I have to say, beside the dealers managed or owned by friends or family, VW of Countryside treated me incredibly well. Good job everyone! I'll be back and will definitely recommend you. Almost forgot, Juan in the finance department was a great guy to deal with too. Not pushy. More
