When I arrived, the dealership suddenly claimed the price had increased — by almost $9,000 — with zero explanation or prior notice. That is textbook bait-and-switch, which violates § 59.1-200 of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act (VCPA) and 24 VAC 22-30-80 of the Virginia Administrative Code governing motor-vehicle dealer conduct. The law is clear: it’s illegal to misrepresent a vehicle’s price in writing or to lure customers onto a lot under false pretenses. This dealership wasted my time, gas, and travel expenses with deceptive advertising. I have written proof of the lower quote and will be filing complaints with both the Virginia DMV Dealer Board and the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division. If a dealership is willing to change the deal by nearly nine grand after you show up, imagine what happens once they have your signature. Buyers beware — Southern Team Nissan has zero integrity.
