Why didn't I do this years ago . . . My wife and I have been driving Toyotas for many years. Two years ago we decided to try a Subaru and while we were certainly impressed on it's ability My wife and I have been driving Toyotas for many years. Two years ago we decided to try a Subaru and while we were certainly impressed on it's ability to navigate snowy roads, everything else left us wanting a little more. About a month and a half ago we decided we'd had enough and wanted something different. Our target vehicle was a 7 - 8 seat SUV and after doing a month of research we narrowed it down to the Honda Pilot and the Toyota Highlander. Almost everything we read said the Pilot was the way to go, but we were Toyota people. The first time we visited Matt Burne Honda we met with Matt Wicksnes and it was evident he was not only knowledgeable about his product, he was also an authentic, caring human being unlike some other "Slick Willy" salesmen we have encountered at other dealerships. The second time we visited the dealership Matt remembered us right away and welcomed us back. We were offered a test drive, but not wanting to waste our time or his, we asked if we could run numbers first. What's the sense in test driving something you can't afford? My wife is a banker so we had some firm numbers in mind and Matt took everything into consideration as he worked up several deals for us. In the end our numbers worked so we took a test drive and we knew right away we wouldn't be visiting the Toyota dealership. I've been driving the Pilot for 4 days now and just hit 100 miles: what a pleasure this vehicle is to drive. When I sit in it I just feel like I'm home. So here's what I'm left with: The buying experience was authentic and focused on us & our needs and we didn't feel pressured; The vehicle we ended up with is AWESOME!! Thanks Matt! More
