Terrific experience at Coast with Mike Campbell My CR-V buying experience at Coast Honda was a pleasant one that I highly recommend to any prospective Honda buyers – specifically my interaction with My CR-V buying experience at Coast Honda was a pleasant one that I highly recommend to any prospective Honda buyers – specifically my interaction with salesman Mike Campbell. As you may know (or not know…) every dealership has its own personality and energy. For instance, before seeing Mike at Coast Honda, I went to “Honda of Toms River.” Ultimately, “Honda of Toms River” overwhelmed me. More specifically, a salesman named Ricky overwhelmed me. Ricky impatiently barked me in a fierce interaction, leaving me more confused than upset. Suffice it to say, I told Ricky “thanks but no thanks.” A short drive later I ended up at Coast Honda. Initially, I should have just gone to Coast Honda in the first place. So if you are buying a Honda, do yourself a favor: go to Coast Honda first. It’s worth travelling to. Back in 2007 I bought a new Civic at Coast Honda. Today, the dealership is just as friendly as it was seven years ago. My salesman, this time, was Mike Campbell. Mike is the opposite of Ricky, the impatient barking “Toms River of Honda” salesman. Mike is an honest salesman who takes his time to patiently explain every aspect of the vehicle as well as every cost and fee. Mike understands that salesmanship, ideally, is about authentic trust, comfortable rapport, effective communication, and providing all of the information so that a consumer can make an informed decision. In fact, another salesman came up to me at Coast Honda and remarked “Oh, you’re buying a car from Mike? He is an awesome guy – and a smart salesman. You’re going to have a wonderful experience.” Yes, I know this may sound over-the-top for a car salesman review – but it’s all really true. Mike is approachable and friendly. He’ll give you a high-five every now and again and make a joke - but at the same time, he is knowledgeable and professional. If you buy a car from him, the overall purchase transaction will seem easy – not because of any pressure to purchase – but because the transaction will be transparent, and therefore, not very stressful. I attribute this transparent transaction to Mike. Ask for him if you want a positive buying experience – and, dare I say, a “fun” buying experience. A number of family and friends have had car buying experiences where they were confused (or scared) into buying unnecessary things, charged hidden fees, or not confident with their purchasing decision. This will not be the case with Coast Honda and especially with Mike Campbell. I can pretty much guarantee it. After my purchase, I went through the fees line by line again – and, again, nothing surprised me. Mike told me about every fee up front. I ended up travelling 45 miles to shop at Coast Honda. It was worth passing over those handful of Honda dealerships just to go to Coast. A great experience overall – and a great salesman. I just wanted to write this up for anyone shopping for a car because, unfortunately, there are some untrustworthy salesman/dealerships out there. I originally walked in looking for a used car after visiting two other dealerships. I ended up getting a new car at that end of the 2014 clearance sale at an excellent price in comparison to the other cars I had looked at that were used. I told him the features I was looking for in the car that I could not find at the other dealerships and he showed me directly to two cars that had these features without trying to steer me towards anything else. While I originally planned on buying a car, Mike informed me of the lease deal that they had going on and did an excellent job at breaking down the differences between buying the car and leasing then buying at the end of the lease. Because of the deal that was going on the leasing actually turned out to be a better option and I was very pleased Mike had presented this to me. He was very knowledgeable of the car and the various purchase options, and this made it much easier to decide that I wanted this car in the end. I would certainly recommend going to Coast Honda and seeing Mike if you are in the market and would like someone that is able to answer your questions knowledgeably and present you with all options available that would suit your needs. More

Excellent, Easy, and Helpful Mike and Jim were very good to me recently when I came in to lease my first car. They suggested the Honda Accord and took me out for a test drive and Mike and Jim were very good to me recently when I came in to lease my first car. They suggested the Honda Accord and took me out for a test drive and showed me everything the car had to offer. They were very knowledgeable on all Honda cars, not just the Accord. It was a very easy and smooth process for me to lease my car and when they didnt have the color that I wanted they got it from another dealership very quickly. They answered all of my questions and were very patient with me. I would definitely recommend this dealership, alont with Mike and Jim if you are interested in leasing, financing, or just have any questions regarding Honda. More

We had previously leased from Coast Honda and had worked with Mike Campbell. After weighing options for new, used or leased vehicles we decided to work again with Mike and returned to Coast. To say Mike went above and beyond would be an understatement. He worked the numbers to stay within our price point, communicated often with both us and our daughter to assist in out of state registration/insurance issues and was generally very supportive. When there was a bump in the process with obtaining some paperwork, he assured us he would have everything ready to go when things fell into place and he did. At our request, Mike even came in on his day off to accommodate us picking up the car. What had begun as a stressful situation searching for a reliable car was transformed into a wonderful experience by us choosing Mike Campbell and Coast Honda!! More

I was introduced to Mike Campbell and after 10 minutes of talking to him, my purpose for being there had changed. I was now going to buy a Honda. Mike was there every step of the way. Now we have an endless supply of information at our thumb tips. From the automakers homepage to videos on YouTube to print magazines. It's all there to be digested (even sitting on the toilet). Mike Campbell at Coast Honda knows this and in no way tries to sway opinion. He presents the information, options, honest facts and steps aside. Easiest auto purchase I've had to date. I'll be back in a few years. More
