Hyaundi purchase In a world full of barely controlled chaos, I found good fortune; the day I walked into MIDWAY Automotive. My recent purchase of one car, only to exch In a world full of barely controlled chaos, I found good fortune; the day I walked into MIDWAY Automotive. My recent purchase of one car, only to exchange it for another, went smoothly because of the exceptional sales, financing, and repair people associated with Midway Automotive. Bob Hurley made my first purchase an enjoyable experience, which is something one would not expect when buying a used car. I had a couple of items I thought should be addressed on my first car and there was no hesitation from Bob, concerning fixing the minor problems that needed attention. After finishing the financing with Kevin White, who is a true asset at Midway Automotive, I left the dealership with my new car, a happy man. A few days later, I returned to Midway for the needed service on my car and at that time, Bob introduced to John and Anthony, telling me they would take care of all my needs. I have happily learned that these two people are extremely knowledgeable and truly accommodating. They have jobs, where they‘re subjected to complaints all day long and yet their interactions with me could not have been nicer or more professional. While waiting for the completion of my cars servicing, I blindly walked around the sales lot, just to pass the time away, and wouldn’t you know it, I found another car that I felt was more suited to my needs. I walked into the sales room and because Bob had the day off, Mark gave me the information I wanted, regarding the new car I had found. With the new information percolating in the back of my mind, I returned to the service area to pick up my car, mentioning to John that I had found another car and told him, not to be surprised to see me come back for the other car. After contemplating the virtues of the car I had seen the previous day, I returned to Midway Automotive to make more inquires concerning the Hyundai Elantra that had peaked my interest. Having only seen the car, I spoke to Bob and asked if I could take it for a test ride, so that I could determine my next move. Bob and Mark both told me to take the car out for as long as necessary to make sure that this was what I wanted to do; buy a second car in less than two weeks. Well, after driving around alone, for an extended road test, I returned to the dealership, knowing it would be in my best interest to work out a new deal, concerning an exchange of cars. Bob, Mark, and Kevin Deveney all worked with me, making sure, this was something I truly wanted to do and not just an impulse related to buyers remorse. It took hours to work out the deal, which I believe was because of two factors, financing and the dealership’s desire to treat me with integrity. I do realize that Bob, Mark, and Mike could have; just let me jump into this, but to their credit, I believe they wanted me to slow down and contemplate the scope and ramifications of the forthcoming transaction. Bob, Mark, Kevin D. and I started filling out the paperwork, while continuing to talk about my new car choice. I took step back, saying to myself, even though this probably is the car I want, it does’t have a remote starter, it is more money then I had planned on spending and that I probably should think about this over night. However, after we engaged in what I would call minimal negotiations, we struck a deal. Midway Automotive would pay for half of the remote starter cost, with a small discount on the Hyundai. Well, needless to say, but yes, I left the dealership with another new used car, this time feeling even better than I did after my first transaction. A date had been set up for me to return for the installation of a remote starter, which I might add went flawlessly. Jomar, who did the remote starter installation, was extremely outgoing and a true professional. In fact, I would recommend him to anyone I know that needs any of the services he offers, without reservation. After Jomar finished the remote starter installation, the service manager, John introduced me to Jeff, who went on a test drive with me to determine what was the cause of the vibrations, which I felt was probably wheel balance or a flat spot on the tire, something which Anthony explained to me, cannot happen with modern tires. Well almost immediately, Jeff felt the reason for my concern and said it most likely just needed wheel balancing and an alignment. During the test ride, I also mentioned to Jeff, the cars hesitation that I felt when pulling out into traffic. He explained to me a feature that the car had, which stops the car from spinning its tires and then he demonstrated the benefit of this feature. Well, I must say that Jeff is another of Midway’s true hidden assets. After returning from the road test with Jeff, John and Anthony told me it would take awhile to balance the tires and do an alignment. Therefore, I took off down the road, for an extended walk, returning approximately an hour or so later, unfortunately finding that the car had not moved, which was understandable, considering how many people were in the waiting room. Therefore, not bothered by the delay, I went for another walk and upon returning this time, I saw that my car was in the shop, for its needed repairs. Me, not being one that likes to sit around, I started a walking tour of the dealership’s sales lot again, reminding myself not to fall in love with another car. Well, I was out walking up and down the rows of cars, at the far end of the lot, when John drove up to me in another car, telling me they had been looking for me. He explained that my car was not going to be ready that day, because the rims needed repairs and I they were going to give me a loaner car to use until my car was completed. I must say that Midway Automotive has been treating me with the upmost of respect and courtesy, which is something I intend to express to anyone I know that needs a good quality used car, which is reasonably priced. Bob Hurley, Kevin White, Kevin Deveney, Mark, Frank, John, Anthony, Jeff, Jomar and the entire host of personnel associated with Mike Deveney and Midway Automotive, you deserve this note of appreciation. I look forward to our next encounter, when I will take delivery of my new used Hyundai Elantra, only to step up and into a nicer car next year. With Respectful Consideration, Thank you! K. B. Admirable Acknowledgment of Integrity To whom it may concern: Our community is extremely fortunate to have the ever expanding Midway Automotive Sales available to all those in the know o To whom it may concern: Our community is extremely fortunate to have the ever expanding Midway Automotive Sales available to all those in the know of its existence. Not for the first time, I drove into the dealership with a car that worked, but needed more repairs than I felt the car deserved; in order to make it safe and reliable for the up-coming summer. After my arrival at the dealership, I was met by Bob Hurley, who turned out to be an extremely credible sales representative that listened carefully to my needs, before recommending any of the available cars. Now that I've taken the time to relive and evaluate my experience at Midway, I feel fortunate that most of my sales dealings revolved around Bob Hurley, because he was aware and knowledgeable of the inventory that met my needs and also exhibited a desire to help me as an individual; not just another sale. Bob and I exchanged many stories and experiences that didn't necessarily involve closing the sale, but have definitely benefited me regarding my financial situation. I explained to Bob that I wouldn't have any problems applying a good down-payment toward any purchase I might make, but was concerned about my credit, because some 15 years earlier I'd bought a car from Midway that ended up being my last big purchase before I became very sick, which regretfully led into a default of the auto loan. Even after telling this story to Bob, he helped to find the right car for me, then introduced me to Kevin White, who helped to guide me through the financing of the vehicle. I told him I had $3000 plus the $500 for my car to put toward a down-payment. We spoke on a very congenial level, before my leaving so that he could try to secure a loan for me. The next day I received a call that I had been approved and I was over the moon. Upon returning to the dealership, Bob greeted me and brought me back in to see Kevin to finish the paperwork. During this process Kevin explained the sales contract, mentioning extended repair coverage, asking if I thought it was a good idea, which of course I agreed was logical. We finished up the paper work and I took possession of the car and drove away over-joyed. However there was something fighting its way forward from the back of my mind, so I stopped down the street from the dealership and took out the paper work, so I could clear up the confusion I felt lurking in my subconscious. I asked my self, how could it possible be that I paid $8200 for the car, understood the processing fees, but couldn't understand how I could still owe over $10,000, when I had just handed over $3000, plus my car. It just didn't compute. So I drove right back to speak to Kevin and he explained the cost of the extra coverage. He again asked if I thought it was a good idea and I agreed it was probably a great idea, but I still had reservations. Kevin told me the paperwork wouldn't be processed till Monday morning and I could still change my mind if that was what I desired. Well, over the next two days, this new loan payoff number troubled me, because it was completely unexpected. So Sunday night I drove over to the dealership and left a card under the door explaining my desire to cancel the coverage, then returned the next morning, just before 8am, to make sure I'd beat the filing. Bob met me and told me Kevin wouldn't be in till 10am, so I went to breakfast, then visited Crescent Credit Union to determine the best way to pay off the car and rebuild my credit. I returned to the dealership just before 10am and met Mike who listened to my reservations and explained that if I paid the car off early and wanted to get into another one, I'd receive back any portion of the extended contract I hadn't used, but I was troubled and felt blind-sided, so hopefully not too foolishly; I removed the extended contract. Again I say, hopefully, because I hope I don't end up regretting my decision. Mike, Kevin and Bob all tried to explain the benefit of keeping the coverage, but I stayed with my decision, even though I knew it was probably a bad idea. You see, I was in sales for a number of years and the only way I can explain how I felt is that blind-sided feeling, which I've already mentioned. Unfortunately it was me that was blind and nothing that anyone at the dealership did wrong toward me, in fact they were trying to protect me. Oh, how foolish one can be! Well, my plan is to pay off this car and return to Midway Automotive next year and buy up and into a better car. I say this, because even though there was a bump in the road during the sale, Bob couldn't have treated me better, Kevin didn't do anything wrong (in fact it was me that misconstrued what the extra coverage entailed), in fact Kevin was a true gentleman and extremely proficient with regards to his part of the process. The last person I met, Mike; tried to be a guiding light, without force he tried to enlighten me as to the error of my ways, but unfortunately it was too late to change my mind regarding the extended coverage. However, I will be back next year and hope to see and deal with all the good people I have met at Midway Automotive. It has been a true pleasure to do business with each and every one of you! With Respectful Understanding and Appreciation Ken B. Another, Extremely Satisfied Customer. More
