I've never reviewed a car dealership before, but this is a case where I needed to share what was the best experience ever. First, let me explain that I hate buying or leasing cars, and dealing with unscr a case where I needed to share what was the best experience ever. First, let me explain that I hate buying or leasing cars, and dealing with unscrupulous salespeople. The pressure, the games, the bait and switch--we've all seen it. I was dreading having to face another miserable experience, but I was looking for a loaded Toyota Tacoma, and what I was available at Smithtown Tacoma. I called the dealership and was lucky enough to have the phone answered by Mike Kaslouskas. I felt from the start that this was going to be a different experience for me. I told Mike what I wanted and he said he had just that vehicle. I told him I wanted the out the door price without add-ons. Mike said of course, and proceeded to tell me that the price would have no add-ons except for sales tax and the cost for DMV. I was already stunned. No add-ons? Huh? What, no dock fees, dealer fees, and all the bogus charges you find everywhere else? How is this possible? Mike told me that he doesn't like games and was only interested in getting customers what they want for the best price he can give. Sounds like a line, right? Trust me, it wasn't. I told him I'd be in the next day with my wife to see if we could make a deal. Mike was as genuine in person as he was on the phone. I couldn't believe he never once tried to sell me a single thing extra. He never even asked if I was financing, or trading in. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop and it never did. I told Mike we were trading in our old Tacoma, and he had the team value it and they offered me a very fair price which happened to be right in line with what I had found on line from the various sites who buy used cars, like Carvana. I told him I'd be paying cash, and that was not a problem at all; there was no pressure whatsoever to make money through interest financing. We looked at the truck, went over all the features and I was ready to sign. Once that was done, Mike took us to another gentleman who handles the final payment. Not once did this gentleman, (Diego) ever try to push extras on us and we finished with Diego in less than 2 minutes after he told us what to bring when we pick up the car. Finally, from there we went to Kyle who took under 2 minutes to take care of calling our Insurance company so that the car insurance would be seamless at pick up, cutting out the legwork of me having to call my insurance company. I cannot say strongly enough that if you want a Toyota, go to Smithtown first where there are no games, just honest, friendly people who make the experience truly a joy! I also have to commend John. John is the last stop at delivery and the person who at other dealerships tries to squeeze you for every possible extra. Not this guy!! John didn’t try to sell a single extra thing and was extremely professional and friendly. I did discuss with him about the extended warranty and John gave me a great price to extend my coverage from 3 to 8 years. This was exactly what I wanted and John was the icing on the perfect experience. More
