I was born in upstate New York on Lake George. I have been married for 27 years to my wife Cheryl and both my kids, Nathan and Lauren, our teaching nearby in Loudoun county. Love to play the Drums. I started in the auto industry in 1980 as a night time clean up man, then moved on to painting cars for about 12 years and started selling in 1993. I love selling at Koons because there are no tricks just honest prices where we do everything we can to be upfront and I think customers appreciate that... My goal is to be as helpful as I can with all my customers weather they buy from us or not...

Buying a car through the internet I was looking to purchase a new 2014 ford mustang gt/cs. I live in south jersey and was working with a couple of local dealers. I got a couple of decent prices online from them and was about to purchase the car. Before I did I did an internet search and up popped Koon's Sterling. Looking at there website and seeing their prices were over 1000.00 less then my local dealer I was intrigued. A chat window popped up and Mike Palmer was the salesman. He was very staight forward with me about price and any fees. He gave me an out the door price immediately. This is something most other dealers won't do online. I told him it sounds good and I will let him know what i decide. I gave my local dealer a chance to match or come close to his price so I didn't need to make a 3 hour drive to virginia. I never heard back from my local dealers, so I knew right there I got a great deal. I emailed Mike and told him which car I wanted. Turns out the car had not arrived yet. He mailed me all the paperwork. I signed them and mailed them back. He called when the car came in. I thought about just having the car shipped to me but I didnt want to wait an extra couple of days. My daughter drove me down I handed over the check and got the keys. Mike went over all the features on the car and synced my phone to the car. The drive was well worth it and Mike Palmer was great. Shopping from my home town of Long Island, New York, I was at first sceptical of purchasing a vehicle over the phone, but Mike Palmer politely, honestly and informatively, navigated me through the process. I got a much better price from Mike than from my local dealerships, and that included heavy duty floor mats, delivery to N.Y., and a full tank of gas!! Sometimes luck is on your side. When on the dealer's website, a chat box popped up with Mike asking if he could help. From that moment on, we didn't just have a sales rep, but a point person and resource who looked out for us no matter what the question or issue was, both during and well after the sale. The sale was easy, no haggling, with a long test drive, and Mike found exactly the car we wanted at another dealership. He arranged to have it delivered and we picked it up the next day on a Sunday evening when the dealer was closing. Mike handled the last paperwork with us since our Finance rep had left. He then spent a good amount of time back in the car with us explaining features, and had me test the hands free parallel parking (very fun). He reiterated if we had questions about the car, to contact him. And I did. He'd quickly respond via email or phone. Once I called him but realized my question could be answered by the parts department, so hung up after a couple of rings. But he later saw our number on caller i.d. so called me anyway. And when some paperwork was inadvertently left at the dealer, he offered to drive it to us. Mike also stepped in when another department's email wasn't working and phone calls not returned promptly. His manager may have said it best - that Mike was a bulldog when it came to his customers. He just takes care of you. I half expect him to show up if we can't get our lawn mower started. This is the 2nd time that I have purchased a vehicle pretty much online. From start to finish, all staff I spoke with were friendly and helpful. I actually drove from Connecticut to purchase my vehicle from Koons Sterling Ford in Viginia. Based on price alone, it was worth the trip! When I arrived, I was greeted immediately, and taken care of from from Koons Sterling Ford in Viginia. Based on price alone, it was worth the trip! When I arrived, I was greeted immediately, and taken care of from the second I stepped out of my car. The price and service was excellent. The entire process of trading my old car in and driving my new car off the lot took less than 2 hours. I couldn't be happier! I'd highly recommend this dealership (Even if you live 6 hours away!) It was a pleasure doing business with them. More

I had purchased a used vehicle from Sterling Ford this summer and appreciated the service level from all of the individuals who worked with me, primarily Nick Humphries and Thom Murray. After doing re summer and appreciated the service level from all of the individuals who worked with me, primarily Nick Humphries and Thom Murray. After doing research on a new vehicle for my wife, we decided that buying American, and buying Ford just made a lot of sense. I am particularly pleased that Ford did NOT accept bail-outs, but rather worked hard at building quality vehicles, and building customer loyalty through good old fashioned American team work and service. At Sterling Ford, the team-work was down-right impressive. Over the course of a couple visits, if Nick Humphries was busy with other customers, then Shane Sonner would jump right in and pick up where Nick left off. On a follow-up visit for further test drives, Mike Palmer was outstanding at listening to our requirements, and providing answers and insight based upon those requirements, while never patronizing us with that all too familiar "over-polite-false-sincerity" that drives me away from a dealership (drives me away, but NOT in one of their vehicles). When my wife and I finally arrived at a decision, Thom Murray, in financing, was expert at thoroughly reviewing various options, while guiding us through process. The high quality of the vehicles that Ford is (finally) making, combined with the high level of customer service that we experienced at Sterling Ford is definitely a winning formula. Perhaps more American companies should pay attention, because Ford is actually restoring credibility in what it means to be "Made in America". Lastly, consider this: Ford did not solicit any of my comments, or pay me one thin dime. In fact, I gave my money to them. And I'll do it again. More
