We didn’t have a particular vehicle in mind when we first started to shop. We already own a Wrangler, so we knew that Jeep would be an option. I love owning a new car, but do not generally enjoy buying one. For that reason I decided to just choose the closest Jeep dealership. When two equidistant results came up, I picked the one in the area buying one. For that reason I decided to just choose the closest Jeep dealership. When two equidistant results came up, I picked the one in the area I liked better. I sent them a message on their website. It was who John contacted me quickly and got the conversation started. He was prompt, polite, and helpful over text. I was able to communicate my situation and what I wanted over text, which was convenient for me. I went to the dealership a few days later to meet him and talk pricing. There were some specific and uncommon features I wanted on my new Jeep (such as a manual transmission), but there were also some options I hadn't yet decided on (such hard top or soft). John took plenty of time to explain the differences, related his personal experiences with both, detailed how the things have changed over the years, showed me the differences on the floor models, and even demonstrated the various ways a soft top can be configured by actually doing it. Nice. I was prepared to place an order and wait for however long it took, but John found a Jeep in another state that met my requirements in less than 5 minutes. I went home to think and discuss things with my spouse. When I made the decision, he had the car on-hand for me two days later, and I don't think the other dealer was anywhere close. Impressive. Returning to complete the transaction and take possession took about 45 minutes - and that included two changes I wanted to make to the finance plan. We took our photo next to the Jeep. He offered a full demonstration, but I like to figure things out. Instead I asked a few questions and he showed me a few less obvious features I didn't know. Then I drove home. That was it. Ask for John. I hope he's around when I buy my next Jeep. Also - I should mention the finance guy was good too (I feel like a jerk because I can't remember his name). I think that was the least amount of time I have ever spent with a car finance guy, despite his thoroughness. He also didn't start treating me like crap after I declined to buy extra services. So in summary, I chose a random dealer and prepared for a painful process. I ended up working with good people who were helpful and made the process surprisingly easy and got it done quickly. Can't ask for better. More
