Worst dealer experience I have ever had. My wife and I were in Pensacola car shopping for a jeep when we ran across some sitting at this dealership. While we were looking, we were approached My wife and I were in Pensacola car shopping for a jeep when we ran across some sitting at this dealership. While we were looking, we were approached by the salesman named Craig in used cars. He mentioned that there was one, a rubicon, that had just been traded in that was being washed in the back if we wanted to look at it. We did, and decided to test drive it. This was on Wednesday, 12-26-18. We liked it but noticed a check engine light on, as did Craig. We were informed that it hadnt been through service yet but that they would taked care of it as soon as it went in tomorrow. We where on the fence since we had looked at another jeep that was a little newer with less mileage and had the hard top and soft top. Craig informed us that he could throw in a soft top since they had several from the many jeeps they get traded in. At this point, we decided to go ahead with it and went in and started the paperwork on it. This is where Craig became the most incompetent sales person I have ever dealt with. Anytime we asked about anything at this point, it was always either not his job or he didnt know. He would get up multiple times and wonder around and always came back and dodged the original question. He continuously informed us he was a drunk and other personal stuff we did not need to know. We finally got through the paperwork and left the dealership around 8pm. Thursday, 12-27-18, Craig called and gave us the numbers which we liked so we headed over. Once we arrived, we started on more paperwork and it was another disaster with him. This was around noon. We were informed that it was in detail and would be done by the time we finished the paperwork. Well, they neglected to tell us it still had to go through service as well so we waited for that and went to the finance department. In the finance department, we informed the gentleman that we didn't want the extended warranty but he continued to insist on it for 30 minutes before finally moving on. Once we finally finished the paperwork and the jeep was finally out of service (5pm) we went out to look it over again and I inquired about the check engine light. I was told there was no check engine light on and that there was no code on the computer either. At this time I decided to walk away from the deal and that's when the Sales manager Michael got involved. He took us out to the service bay to talk with the mechanic who repeated the same information even though the salesman confirmed that he saw the check engine light as well and then informed me that just because there was a check engine light on, that it doesn't necessarily leave a code and if we didn't believe them we could take it across the street to the dodge dealership, which we did. Now, this dealership was very pleasant and they confirmed to me that it would infact leave a code on the computer unless it was cleared. They checked it and it was not there. We returned to Allen Turner and relayed the info and were told well it has a 30 day 1k mile warranty so if it comes back on just bring it back. So, since we were trading in a vehicle with no warranty, older, twice the miles, we decided to go ahead and take the jeep and went directly back to dodge and bought a factory bumper to bumper mopar warranty (not an extended warranty from a third party). Well, we left there to head back home an hour away and we made it about 30mins down the road and the check engine light came back on. So, Friday, 12-28-18 we had the jeep scanned locally and found a transmission code that doesn't go away unless cleared. After speaking with several local dodge service departments we found that basically the transmission was going out or had a short in the harness. So I called Michael, the sales manager at Allen Turner back to see if there bogus 30 day 1k mile warranty was going to cover it. He informed me he would have to make some calls and call me back. He called me back and informed me that the jeep still had 90 days and 20k factory power train warranty on it so I needed to take it to the dodge dealership OR if I didn't like that idea I could bring it to him and he would take it to dodge. Needless to say at this point I was beyond done with dealing with them and will never return to an Allen Turner dealership and will spend the rest of my days trying my hardest to deter people from any Allen Turner dealership!!!!! Certified Sonata Was Not Inspected I purchased a certified 2014 Sonata from Allen Turner, which they informed me was an 800-900 value which added to the price of the car. In doing so, I purchased a certified 2014 Sonata from Allen Turner, which they informed me was an 800-900 value which added to the price of the car. In doing so, it came with the expectation that it had passed a 150 point inspection. The following are items which I was able to identify from that 150 point inspection which were not done when I purchased the car: 1. Rear brake light went out intermittently. 2. Rear door speaker was non-functional 3. Windshield Wiper Blades were detached and non-functional 4. Owner's Manual was not present. 5. Second smart key was not present. 6. Clock was not set to the proper time. When I took it in to have the wiper blades, speaker and light fixed, they reported that 7. The Alignment was not true They did work to rectify these issues (outside the clock, I did that myself), and while it did require that my vehicle be at the dealership for a total of 8 days, they were completed. After 2 months, it was time to get the oil changed, so I took it into the dealership. Upon completing the work they informed me that I needed new brakes and tires. Hyundai states that the tires for a certified vehicle must be a minimum of 5/32nds upon sale and the brake pads must have more than 50% life. The tires were measured at 5/32nds, the minimum, and I was anticipating that purchase. However, the brakes should not go from more than 50% remaining to needing replaced in under 90 days. So.... 8. The brakes were not properly inspected and replaced prior to sale. Of course, this leaves open the possibility that there are other items which a non-trained person couldn't identify which are not up to standard (for instance - how am I supposed to know or check if the emission system is fully functional? the transmission mounts are in good order?). I anticipate an extra high cost of ownership for this vehicle because they didn't properly prepare it for sale. So while I feel I received a fair price (except for the certification costs) and the employees have been very attentive and helpful at correcting the issues, at the end of the day the dealership still sold me a car that did not meet the standards for which they charged me extra to meet. I have bought many cars over the years and was in the market for an Elantra. I actually live in Louisiana but had been contacting dealers about their inventory and offers and as usual got the same typical run around "that price includes incentives you don't qualify for". Or "we just sold that one", etc... you know the drill. Not with Glen, Glen responded to my email and communicated with me quickly and clearly. No games like typical just straight talk and I could tell right away what a great guy I was dealing with. Glen worked diligently on getting me the car I wanted and at a great price! I was more than thrilled to make the drive to Pensacola to buy a car from Glen. I wish I could send everyone his way as I am certain their experience will be as great as min and when you meet Glen you will understand why I feel the way I do. Glenn and the dealership are a rare find in today's world of car sales and Hyundai has become our new favorite brand as this is now our second one and won't be our last. More
