BOA is consistently among the lowest and a good base-point to use. After running my credit and knowing by buying power (both very strong), I was provided a rate (6.99) that was nearly TWO full points over what BOA was advertising. I inquired with Alex Moore (finance manager) and was told "The rate and payments I sent over are from bank of America. The 5.04 rate on their website is advertised rates as low as. There is a lot that goes into what rate the bank gives you. Examples money down, amount finance, etc." That quote is in writing via text and complete xx. I inquired with BOA directly and applied for a loan, and was instantly approved for the full amount to be financed and their advertised rate. I CALLED BOA to ask why the dealer rate was so high, and was told THE DEALER SHOULD BE SEEING THE SAME RATE that I was approved for on their side, but they were likely adding onto it to receive more money for the dealership. I called out this and was given a rate that was still 1/2 a point higher than BOA. I said I would use BOA and was told they don't accept outside financing ... which is because the dealership is making ridiculous money off customers on the financing side by selecting rates with higher kick-backs to the dealership. THIS SHOULD BE CRIMINAL! Sales side - Good experience. Michelle worked diligently to make sure the vehicle I selected was quickly outfitted with the accessories I wanted to add on. I flew in from out of state and she made sure the final sales portion was quick; I was in and out in 30 minutes, which was wonderful. More
