Dealer failed to honor price negotiated in texts Dear Mr. Weber, I felt it was important for you to hear about our customer experience last night. I was led to your dealership through the TruCar po Dear Mr. Weber, I felt it was important for you to hear about our customer experience last night. I was led to your dealership through the TruCar portal. My daughter and I came in to purchase a CX5 Grand Touring model. This was after a series of texts that were exchanged between myself and Megan Nuttleman. After clarifying the vehicle we were looking for, Megan provided a very competitive cash price quote on the car of $29,130. I asked if the price would apply if my daughter chose the 0% financing offered by Mazda. She replied back that there would be a different price. And responded with a new price of $30,630. And added that we may qualify for additional discounts like loyalty or military. I replied that my daughter was a current Mazda owner. Megan replied that we qualified for an additional $750 loyalty discount, and the new price would be $29,880 before DMV and Fees. Later that afternoon, I replied that we were coming in to see the car. Once we arrived, Megan was apparently ending her day and handed us off to Dylan. He arranged for us to drive the vehicle, and upon our return, we indicated we were ready to buy the car. The challenge came when Dylan provided us with the pricing sheet. It did not reflect the quote we were provided. Initially, it was significantly higher, and after sharing the texts I exchanged with Megan, he went to see Omid. Dylan came back again, and the numbers still did not line up. Then Omid came to meet with us. He tried to justify the numbers, but they still did not match. My daughter and I took a break while Omid went to look at numbers again. He returned while we were outside and presented a final offer that was still $125 higher than the quote I received from Megan. At that point, I was pretty frustrated that my daughter had driven out from Clackamas and me from Tigard, and we were not able to conduct a straight forward business transaction. We choose to leave the dealership without making the purchase. I have used TruCar on two other occasions to purchase vehicles. In both instances, the experiences were flawless. I was very disappointed in how your team attempted to execute this transaction. And I was disappointed that my daughter's first "New Car" buying experience was so much like the stereotypical experience that dealerships have been trying to dispel for years.
