Used Apple Maps to locate a nearby Ford dealer. ( important). Parked at dealer; went in and saw a guy in the showroom. The service center is ok. They take a long time to do a simple oil change that is scheduled ahead of time, but I understand they get busy. When I bought my truck in August I was told that there was a promo going on and that I would receive 2 years of free oil changes and tire rotations. That was all that was explained. No stipulations, no exceptions, just 2 years of service. When I went for my second oil change I was told it would be my last one that was covered by the promo. I had to go talk to the sales manager who “looked into it” and sent our salesman to explain that it is set up on a points system that translated into a dollar amount and that now since I’ve had 2 services done that I have 2 more, maybe 3, oil changes allowed and then I’ve expired the promotion deal. He also said it was 2 year or 24k miles which was never explained initially. I will have 2 more oil changes done in the next 6 months! I’m not looking for a free lunch or something that I’m not entitled to, but the fact is I’ve been led to believe one thing when it’s actually another. I’m sure in all the paperwork from that evening it explained all of this, but who reads the fine print while setting at the table with a salesman finalizing a deal? I just feel that this aspect of the deal was poorly represented and executed. More
