I'd heard great thin After a lifetime of loyalty to Hyundai, I chose to go for a vehicle with AWD to navigate the snow and stormy weather this winter. I'd heard great things about the Honda CR-V, so I did some research and looked around at pre-owned vehicles in the area. That day I'd tried two other Honda dealerships, due to them being closer in proximity to where I live. After both dealerships tried the same gimmicks that did nothing except make me walk out of the door (confrontational haggling, inflated pricing, a steady stream of different salespeople entering an office and trying to convince me I won't find a better deal, insinuating I didn't know enough about cars to haggle, etc.) I was tired and ready to give up. Thankfully I thought I'd give one more dealership a shot, and went to Honda of Tenafly. I was greeted immediately by a large sales floor absolutely filled with customers, all talking to salespeople and being attended to. I was directed to my salesperson, Vega, who made the entire experience from start to finish easy and transparent. He was both personable and easygoing, which was perfect given that I'd just spent three hours at two other dealerships that set me on edge. Within minutes I was test-driving a certified pre-owned CR-V within my price range. Vega was very knowledgeable and set my mind at ease with his calm demeanor and no-nonsense sales pitch. He told me all about the features of the car, explaining why this car was suited for what I was looking for. When we returned to the office he comprehensibly broke everything down, including several pricing options. The price agreed upon was fair, and I didn't feel hassled or pushed at all. In addition to Vega's expertise, the dealership as a whole was warm and inviting. Salespeople were walking around offering refreshments and chatting with various customers. I was asked if I wanted an ugly Christmas sweater, as they were giving them out, and how could I say no to that? Every employee I came into contact with was friendly and offering me some kind of food or drink (including pizza - can't say I've seen that before) Overall the environment truly felt like a family-owned dealership, and it didn't surprise me to find out that it was. In the future, all of my Honda purchases will be from Honda of Tenafly, and I plan to tell anyone searching to give them a try and ask for Vega. I've bought three cars in my lifetime, and this was the only experience I'd ever be able to describe as pleasant and enjoyable. I couldn't be happier with my new car, and experience overall! More
