James - Thanks for reaching out. I had a great experience with Shannon George and would definitely work with him again on future purchases. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with how Westside handles trade in vehicles. I purchased a 2016 LX 570. I knew it had been purchased at Westside and that it had been serviced every 5,000 miles at Westside up until it was traded in. Immediately after purchasing the vehicle and getting it home, the battery died. I pulled the cover and found the battery had a massive ball of corrosion on it and was bulging. It was a Lexus battery and only 37 months old. I realize pre-owned vehicles are sold “as-is” but I was greatly disappointed to learn that these trade-ins aren’t going through the service center and undergoing at least a high level inspection. Likewise, it was due for an oil change. I feel like if Westside is going to put a pre-owned vehicle on its lot for sale, that it should undergo some minimum level of inspection. I understand that it costs money to open a ticket in the service center and that ultimately effects the list price but I think in keeping with the level of quality that Lexus is known for, that should be a baseline expectation. This is the second used Lexus I have purchased at Westside. On my previous purchase of an ES350, I had initially dealt with Shannon, however when I came in to purchase it, he was out on vacation and someone else handled the transaction. At that time I had requested that scuffs on the rear bumper be buffed out. I returned a few days later to pick it up (at night) only to find that the work had not been done. I opted to take the vehicle as it was and did it myself. So, I’ve had two purchases and both had great buying experiences but came with less than satisfactory experience on the final delivery condition.
