Recently purchased a pick up from this dealership and they sold me on the protection plus plan. The salesman really stressed the lifetime engine guarantee alone as being worth the $3k the plan costs. Tur they sold me on the protection plus plan. The salesman really stressed the lifetime engine guarantee alone as being worth the $3k the plan costs. Turns out the lifetime engine guarantee is provided by the manufacturer of the lubricant and not by the dealership like I was lead to believe. The lifetime guarantee is actually free from the lubricant manufacturer as long as their lubricants are used. The rest of the items provided in the protection plus plan (paint protectant, interior protectant, flashing tail light, window tint, nitrogen filled tires, lojack) were already installed on the vehicle and thus would have been included whether I purchased the plan or not. Overall this is my fault for not understanding what they were selling me however this plan was presented in a manner that lead me to believe I was buying something similar to an extended warranty. Salesman tactics are well known, but I fell for it completely which costs me $3k unnecessarily More
