Was quoted $5,450. 00 for service repair for state inspection. I did some of the minor repairs( bulbs, belts , brakes) myself and had exhaust repair at an outside muffle 00 for service repair for state inspection. I did some of the minor repairs( bulbs, belts , brakes) myself and had exhaust repair at an outside muffler shop. When I called to schedule remaining service I was told they were booked further out than expected. I had another shop preform the repair and inspection. With me buying the parts doing some of the repairs and the other shop finishing my cost was one third of the quote given. This is the first time I was quoted a cost that was much higher than expected. I did purchase Subaru parts but looked the part up and found that the Subaru part was hundreds of dollars more than the other brand name parts. More
