I just purchased an '06 S60R and am really enjoying it so far. I was pretty happy with my purchase and the entire experience *UNTIL* I drove my (for me, expensive) AWD S-60 Volvo (2012 pre-owned) in the snow. I bought it to be a fabulous snow car, and I had menti experience *UNTIL* I drove my (for me, expensive) AWD S-60 Volvo (2012 pre-owned) in the snow. I bought it to be a fabulous snow car, and I had mentioned to Steve many times that this was why I was spending the money on an AWD Volvo. (I had had a very satisfactory AWD Passat for much less money, but it wore out, and VW no longer made the Passat in AWD). So Steve knew (or should have) that my main concern was a car that would handle well in the snow. The car is beautiful, handles very well in general, and the AWD is phenomenal. (Better than on my previous car.) BUT the car does not grip will in the snow - my husband and I were both VERY surprised at its tendency to skid, since it was a pricey car bought specifically for that purpose. (And we are both very experienced drivers in the snow; we do it all the time.) It was silly not to have checked out the tires beforehand, but since it was AWD and since I had made it VERY clear that I wanted a good snow car, I assumed that the tires would be top-of-the-line all weather radials, and appropriate to snow driving. When I reported to Steve that they were not handling well in the snow, he said, oh yes .. they are not made for that. They are 18" wheels and tires; not optimal for the snow. He recommended (and I will swallow the price and go with this) spending another $1,700 to put snow tires PLUS 16" wheels on for the winter. I can understand maybe needing snowtires (though my old car - with good all-weather radials - never ONCE had a skid) - but also having to change the wheels because these are not the right size to be good in the snow is a bit much on top of the money I have already spent (above my budge). I would not be complaining except that I had made it very clear that the reason I was going way above my comfort level in terms of price in buying an upscale Volvo was for the snow features. So I do think I should have been warned ahead of time that the tires and wheels on this car were not optimal for that, and I could have factored that into my decision. That said, I love the car, and am reasonably happy with the dealership. But I think they could have been more sensitive to and in tune with the fact that I had said over and over that performance in the snow was very important to me. I am resentful of having to spend a whole lot extra to get what I needed in the first place. More

The showroom is complete with the Volvo collection, clean, and browser friendly. I knew I was in the market for a Volvo when I walked in but wasn't sure what most fit my lifestyle. Both Michael and Steve Bernardo helped settle my mind on the right vehicle- which was easy on account of the fact that they were there to help me make a decision, not sell me... and I couldn't be happier with MY choice. I recommend Steingold to everyone who is looking for a seamless, pleasant, and reassuring experience when buying a new car, because thats the experience I had. Went into Steingold for warranty work; left purchasing a new vehicle. This is my 4th Volvo purchased in ten years, and for my wife, 5th in twelve years. My wife and I had never done business with Steingold Volvo before, but we had seen their ad online so we decided to check out their preowned inventory of XC70 and XC90's. We met Steve upon our arrival Volvo before, but we had seen their ad online so we decided to check out their preowned inventory of XC70 and XC90's. We met Steve upon our arrival and he was extremely friendly and helpful showing us what they had in stock. After viewing a couple of XC70's we saw an XC90 and immediately knew it was the right car for us. It was in extremely good condition with new tires and had all the features we were seeking. Steve gave us a very good financing package and after no more than two hours we left the dealership with a new car. Overall a very pleasant experience. More
