Top 10 Reasons Not to Purchase/Service a Vehicle Here Details of my car-buying experience and why I will never again, and you should not, buy a car from this dealership 1. "Inaccessibility" to Carfax r Details of my car-buying experience and why I will never again, and you should not, buy a car from this dealership 1. "Inaccessibility" to Carfax reports. This dealership provides buyers with AutoCheck reports for the cars it sells, that don't have as much detail as Carfax reports. When asked if I could obtain a Carfax for a car prior to the one bought, I was told Ann (our salesperson) couldn't access Carfax. I found one for the car in 3 minutes online. She had to get the assistance of another salesperson to get a Carfax report for the vehicle I ultimately purchased. 2. Questionable Pre-owned 125-Point Inspection Certification. It was probably not expected that I would ask for the documentation that supported the pre-owned status of the vehicle but we did. The first time I received the paperwork over 1/3 of the checklist was not checked and where the inspection dates should have been listed the mileage was listed repeatedly, making it invalid for pre-owned status. I had to ask Ann repeatedly for the list to be addressed. The first time she did not understand what I was asking although I attached the documents for illustration via email. Then it was returned to me TWICE incomplete again. How many times does it take to get something so basic right? 3. Most competitive deals are only available when you finance through the dealership. Read the fine print on advertised "sale" prices if you intend to finance on your own to make sure you're getting a fair price on your terms. 4. Vehicles aren't detailed before they are sold. My car was literally getting detailed (wiped down with paper towels and garbage, including a used nail file in the glove compartment, removed) when I picked up the car after I bought it, although I was told it would be detailed before pick-up. 5. Dishonesty about vehicle components. At close of sale I was pitched on 3 different tiers of car alarms. When asked (although I knew the answer) if the car didn't already come equipped with an alarm, I was told flatly "no". A bold-faced lie. 6. Second key comes at an additional charge. If you want to have a backup in case a key fob gets lost, make sure you negotiate this at this of purchase. I assumed I would be provided with 2 key fobs. When I asked what I was supposed to do if I lost the key, I was told by the sales manager, Steve, I would have to have the car towed back to the dealership from wherever I am and then another key would have to be made. I had to pay $250 to have an additional key made. 7. Registration follow-through is lacking. I paid $235 for DMV registration. 6 weeks later/4 days prior to the expiration of my temporary registration, my vehicle documentation, is no where in sight. 8. Service department is a joke. Less than a month after purchasing my car, I brought it into the shop to have a chipped windshield fixed (noted on purchase and given a waiver to have it fixed at a later date for free), as well as have the computer looked at due to 1) incorrect time, 2) a repeated vehicle phone service message 3) out of whack navigation. Not only did it take me about 20 minutes to actually book the appointment, I was given a hard time about getting a loaner vehicle (part of their "VIP Rewards Program"), and was told they get 30 cars(!) in a day and don't have enough loaners to go around. I tried to work around this, but living an hour away made this inconvenient. I was able to secure one the day I dropped off the car, after making a last ditch effort to receive what I was due. Almost 10 days later I was told my car was ready but I couldn't immediately pick it up. I told Service I would pick it up on Monday, but couldn't make it there before end of that day. I was left a message that I had to pick it up before Monday or I would be charged. You want to charge me for the repairs that should've been addressed before the car was sold because I'm not working with your schedule? To add insult to injury, the chipped windshield was not fixed and was told I have to rely on the same staff that didn't fix it to begin with (and lied to me and told me it was) to schedule another appointment for someone to come to my home to have it fixed. When I asked why it wasn't fixed, I was told the person who was working on it was not there so they couldn't answer, but I shouldn't worry because it would be fixed. Really? A new computer had to be installed, so this clearly wasn't tested before its sale. I had to figure out how to re-set the map so it didn't think I was in Texas and I could navigate home. 9. Management clearly isn't resolving on-going issues. I included Phil Wolmar (CMO) in initial communications to Ann and called him as well since he seemed to be handling damage control. I still haven't heard from him. 10. If the above 9 reasons aren't enough to caution you from buying a car here, just take a look at some of the other low-star reviews. More

They were very prompt with getting everything ready from paperwork to prepping my vehicle and making this experience pleasurable . We had been to other dealers and we were not treat as well as East Hills. During Greg's absence his manager Steve DeSeto picked up the where we left off. He kept us informed of the where the vehicle was and today we finally picked it up.
