I told them I did my timing belt somewhere else before. The inspection report still said that I need to replace the timing belt. This really makes you think if they actually look at your car when they recommend anything. Then, they tell me the spool valve is leaking and if I dont fix it right away, it will make my alternator fail. This sounds so serious so I asked how much and it turns out $1300. So I turn it down since I never see any oil leaking on the ground before. Today, I got a second opinion. I do have a leak indeed; however, I was told that this is such a minor leak and the repair is not necessary. If I have to take care of it, the spool valve gasket is only $15 for the part. $15+ service vs. $1300!! Minor leak that is not necessary vs. immediately attention is needed!!! After these two recommendation, I personally ask myself should I even listen to their recommedation next time! In general, the customer service representative is very nice and friendly. However, I feel they are trained to sell the service like this! Especially those days that they are not busy and do not have much customers! More
