I would not recommend. After trusting them on “helping me” I did not like the outcome, after telling them not to add those extra coverages, they still added them. Management didn’t help me at all. More

I have purchased several vehicles from Oscar Black and always enjoyed the experience. However, I will never purchase another vehicle from Shottenkirk. The deal I made with Oscar on my used 4Runner quick always enjoyed the experience. However, I will never purchase another vehicle from Shottenkirk. The deal I made with Oscar on my used 4Runner quickly went South. Tyler Adkins, their finance guy came out with paperwork with nearly$8,000 in add-ons. When I told him I wasn't interested in the two warranties added to the deal he said they couldn't sell the car without them. He told us they advertise the vehicles for less than they can sell them for to get buyers in the door then they have to add the extras to make money. When I said I wouldn't buy it with the upcharge he said to give him a few minutes to look at the deal again. He returned from his office and told my wife and I he could knock off one of the warranties and he could extend the Shottenkirk warranty from 6 month six thousand miles on the paint, dents, windshield, powertrain warranty to a 36 month 45,000 mile warranty. We all thought that was a decent deal and worth it for the power train alone, so we agreed to pay the $2,995 additional fee for it and made our deal. By this time it was getting late and I sent my wife on home in her vehicle as I would close the rest of the transaction and follow. Oscar Black remarked, " You guys are getting a great deal and I have never heard this deal before". "You are lucky". It wasn't a deal after all. When I went to Tyler's office to sign off on the paperwork I discovered he had added the $4,000 warranty to the contayct in addition to the $2,995 Shottenkirk warranty. I again said, I do not want the$4,000 warranty because the Shottenkirk warranty will cover the power train and that was really all I would worry about. Then he says, well the powertrain warranty isn't extended with the other parts of the Shottenkirk warranty. He said, Oscar and I thought you were confused about that part of the deal. Everything else was extended except the power train. So he wants us to pay an additional $2,995 to cover windshield damage and paint chips. Then he tells me if you just leave the warranties on during the financing it will lower your interest rate another 2% and then you can cancel the warranties any time at no cost to you and get a full refund. By now I was worn out. I wanted the vehicle and it was late. He said I could save 2% and cancel the warranties so I signed the papers and drove home. The next week I emailed Tyler and told him I was ready to cancel the warranties. I wasn't getting any replies so I called Oscar and asked what I should do. I guess he got Tyler to email me back. Tyler informed me I needed to contact the warranty company and they would cancel and they did, but not the Shottenkirk add on warranty. When I contacted Tyler about it he told me that their warranty can't be cancelled. I also pointed out to him that they had added a window tint and nitrogen upcharge to the vehicle contact for$798 and that the vehicle already had tinted windows when they got it. I asked him if he would show me the work order and warranty on the window tint if the dealership did it. He said it would be up to me to contact serv Tyler says, you agreed to the price! I didn't see the extra charge until several days later. The window tint was added after the listed price and I missed it until later when reviewing the paperwork. He still has not provided proof the tint job was done by Shottenkirk and provided no warranty for the tint job. I later found the contract states all vehicles with under 97,000 miles come with the 36 month 36,000 mile warranty included that he charged me for. I have not been able to make contact with anyone in upper management but will keep trying. I will take this to arbitration as outlined in the contract. I asked Tyler to refund the charge for the tint that wasn't done and for the Shottenkirk warranty I didn't want and which he told me I could cancel, but now can't. I'm done with these folks if this isn't resolved soon. More
