When I was test driving the vehicle, I noticed a warning light that stated "Adaptive Headlight malfunction". I brought this to the sales persons attention and he said that they would check it out, but it was most likely just a sensor issue that a BMW dealership would need to turn off. I went through the rest of the process and decided to purchase the vehicle based on that information. When presented with the extended warranty option during the financing process, I turned it down as I had trusted the vehicle had been serviced properly and was willing to take on any cost associated with owning a vehicle that had been maintained regularly (the sales person showed me the car-fax with this information). After I had purchased the vehicle, I brought it to a BMW dealership to have the sensor taken care of as well as checked over. The BMW technician found that "both the caps were off (the tech actually found them laying on the undershields on your vehicle) so it is likely that someone was doing some work on the vehicle possible left them off." I contacted Gretna Auto Outlet to discuss this information with them and they said there is nothing they would do as I bought the vehicle "as is". I understand the risk in buying the vehicle as is and not having extended warranty, however I feel the information and promises provided me were meant to mislead me and they knew the issue. I was more than willing to try and figure something out with the dealer but was met with unreturned phone calls and being told the blame was on me because of the documents I signed. One last piece that was shared with me during one of these phone calls was that I had signed a document which would have had anything discussed during the sales process on it. I do not specifically remember a document like that, however there was a lot of documents to sign. I was also informed by extended warranty that this issue would not be covered by them because it wasn't a mechanical failure since the caps were simply left off and laying there which allowed the moisture to get into the mechanism. The BMW dealer also informed me that the headlights are not functioning. I feel this was gross negligence on the part of Gretna Auto Outlet. After reading other reviews, this is nothing new for this dealership More

This place is a joke. They say they treat their customers like family. That couldn’t be further from the truth. They took our down payment but did not apply it to what we told them to (the tax, title, and fe like family. That couldn’t be further from the truth. They took our down payment but did not apply it to what we told them to (the tax, title, and fees) and then called us two weeks later asking for $1300 for tax, title, and fees. We got home and within the first month, found over $5,000 worth of repairs needed on our vehicle, two of which were safety concerns. We contacted them and were finally told (after them telling us multiple times there was nothing they could do) that we could bring it back (we live 3 hours away) and they would “take a look but couldn’t guarantee they would fix anything.” They tell you everything you want to hear and treat you so good while you are there but as soon as they have your money and you drive off their lot, you are SOL. Any good review of this business is coming from someone who got lucky. We gave them ample opportunity to show good customer service and make things right and they have done nothing but kick us when we are down. The tax, title, and fee issues was truly a miscommunication on THEIR part and they did nothing but tell us there was nothing they could do to fix it. I’ve sent emails to Travis and upper management, they are ignored. Iowa buyers beware: they screwed up our paperwork twice for license plates and we still don’t have them. We’ve now had the car for two months and already spent over $3k in repairs and have another $2k needed. If nothing else, I’d like to prevent someone else from getting screwed over like we were. They come back to everything saying we should have bought the warranty. Nobody spends over $20k on a vehicle and expects there to be $5k worth of stuff wrong with it, especially when they claim it was inspected. You don’t buy a car from a good dealership expecting to need the warranty before the first payment is made. That’s bad business. Don’t let their fake “we take care of our customers” and their neat facilities fool you, run away from this place. More
