My experience buying a car was everything that's wrong with the traditional American car buying experience. The first salesman told me I could get no discounts off MSRP unless I leased the car -- despite with the traditional American car buying experience. The first salesman told me I could get no discounts off MSRP unless I leased the car -- despite the $3000 cash back being promoted on every vehicle. The second salesman tried to pull a "bait and Switch" on me with the discounts he was willing to offer, far less than what was advertised. The advertisement did not mention anything about having to lease or finance a car to get a discount. The sales manager finally had to step in to offer the advertised discount, but only if I financed the car. When the buying documents came through, the price was $500 more than what we agreed upon. Nobody has yet explained to me, 1 week after purchase, to whom I have to send my monthly payment check. I still have no idea what the $1000 I had to pay for "vehicle prep" went towards. More
