My Review of Atlantic Toyota:
I can't believe all the bad reviews I see on this website for this dealer. Maybe only the unhappy customers posted. I had a very positive buying experience here in August/September 2004. I went in because an ad in Newsday said $750 off he list price of all Siennas. This was a good deal at the time since it was a new model and the usual discount was $500. I was greeted by and dealt with a saleman named Mitch. I think his last name was "Messling", or something like that. He was very professional. He had us drive the car and then let my wife and I talk it over. There was never any pressure. He asked what other vehicles we were looking at (Honda Odyssey). He asked what other dealers we had been to (Honda City). He asked why we didn't buy the Odyssey from them (low value on trade in). He beat the Honda dealers trade in value by $500. He explained that kbb.com and other sites can give values for used cars, but they don't have to buy them and resell them. He explained that th trade in price is based on what the cars sell for at auction. He let us bargain down another couple of hundred from the already offered $750 off sticker. He asked if I wanted to finance through Toyota. I told him that I could get 4.9% on line through Capital One, but if Toyota was close to that, no problem. I was shocked when I cam to pick up the van and Toyota had actually undercut Capital One (4.3%).There was never any pressure or tricky tactics at all. Of course I had to meet with the closer who tried to sell me an alarm and an extended warranty, but even he was not a problem.

Mitch even met us when we picked up the car and went over all the controls with us.

I can't say as much for their service dept. They constantly try to sell unnecessary services like "their plan". I have dropped the car for routine things like oil changes and tire rotations, only to have them call me and try to sell services the manufacturer doesn't even recommend, like the 15,000 mile service, 20,000 mile service. They even told me that I should get my fuel injectors cleaned at 20,000 miles, even though the car was running fine. They even tried to sell me the in cabin air flter for soething like $80 installed. I bought a Bosch replacement at Auto Barn for about $25 and changed it myself in five minutes. But again, once they were put in their place and they received a couple of bad reviews on those all important dealer reiew surveys, they chilled out.

They have been good in fixing two things under warranty, a power window motor and a couple of sensors that went out. Each time the car was left overnight and was ready the next day.

Overall, I'd say sales were an "A plus", at least my salesman, and service was a "C".

My Review of Atlantic Toyota:
This place is a complete joke - I was give a bait and switch, BS excuses and was flat out treated rudely all while standing in their show room with CASH trying to buy a car. I would never in a million years return to this place. I had my parents with me (their name was on the title to my trade in) and they said they've never seen such a bunch of incompetent people in their lives (they're 60 and have bought many cars over the years).

My best guess is that this place tries to waste all of your time so that you can't shop elsewhere in the same day.

I was also told that Toyota Certified only means that the car will pass NYS inspection.....we have an '82 Dodge with giant gaping rust holes that passes NYS inspection - I'm not impressed. Toyota should do something with these guys to avoid damaging the reputation of the greater Toyota brand.

My Review of Atlantic Toyota:
I went to this dealership to buy a used car that I saw online. I called in advance to make sure it was available since I had to drive 2 hours to get there. After I took it for a test drive the salesman Martin Flores told me it had just been sold over the internet as I was driving it! He offered to show me other cars but none met my criteria. Talk about a bait and switch operation! What a waste of my time and money. Don't go there.

My Review of Atlantic Toyota:
fucking assholes!! just want your money!! my mom leased a toyota highlander about 8 months ago....so we thought maybe they would be nice to me as i was interested in the rav4, the salesman clearly just wanted my money and treated us so disrespectfully, even as we walked out, i heard another salesman say to ours "so did you get it?" right in front of us!! typical cocky sales men, go elsewhere its worth it!

My Review of Atlantic Toyota:
Read the contract carefully.

Back in 2002 when first shoppnig for a Camry we came across a leftover 2001 from Atlantic. It was exactly how my wife wanted except it didn't have a sunroof.

After bargaining and haggling the price, they agreed to include an aftermarket sunroof at the agreed upon price that would be installed by a local sunroof shop.

We then return the next evening to sign papers. There was 1200 tacked on for the sunroof!

We walked out.

My Review of Atlantic Toyota:
I have had the worse experience with the sales department. I purchased a new Toyota Forerunner in late Sept 2004. I also purchased roadside assistance at that time, which the finance guy pushed when we went to pick up the vehicle. I needed roadside assistance the other day and called the number on a keychain they gave me. No one ever called me back I had to make other arrangement with my faimily to get picked up. I called the dealership when I got home as I was very angry they were not helpful at all. After about 10 minutes of waiting to speak to someone a salesmen got on the phone and proceded to tell me the roadside assistance company that they were dealing with went out of business. I told them that was not acceptable and I wanted my money back for that service I purchased. Then he said they did not go out of business I should keep trying and someone would call me back. I could hear lots of laughter in the background and I know they were making jokes about me. When I told the person I was speaking to on the phone that I could here the joking (Tony) he told the other guy to cut it out and they both started laughing. This is not the way to treat a customer whe has just spent 32,000. for a new vehicle. I will never go back to that dealership to purchase a car, and I will make sure I tell anyone who asked the terrible service I received. I will make it a point to go to the dealership on my day off and attempt to get a refund on my so called roadside assistance. While I am there I will make sure to tell anyone I see looking at the cars of the terrible service.

My Review of Atlantic Toyota:
Only interested in taking your money. Every visit for oil change
is an opportunity to try & sell several hundred dollars worth of work
not necessary. I asked for tune up and they charged me $100
for "diagnostic". I did not ask for diagnostic, I asked for tune-up.
Don't bother asking for an estimate, it's meaningless. In conversation, the service rep. said that people who only come in for their "free lifetime oil" service are a "pain in the ____".

When I bought the (used) car, the dealer (then d.b.a. AMITY Toyota)
put "lifetime oil" charge on the sales invoice, yet I never asked for "lifetime oil" . Then they said they'd throw it in free, but the sales rep had no idea how to adjust my contract to take off the "lifetime" oil charge.) The car's turn signals did not work, yet they had just put a brand-new NYS inspection sticker on it. I work 6 days a week (and
I had just bought the most expensive thing I have ever owned), and it is not convenient for me to return to the dealership which is not in my neighborhood so I just replaced the bulbs myself... and the signals still did not work. I had 2 gentlemen at the auto parts store look at it, and they said the lamp sockets were wrong for that model. In short, what is the meaning, to the customer, of "Certified Toyota Used Car" ?

Half the time I don't even go to this dealer to get my oil changes, which are already paid for, because their attitude toward the customer
is disgusting.

Fortunately this Camry is well designed and well built,
and so far the need for going to Atlantic Toyota for repairs is minimal.

My Review of Atlantic Toyota:
After just having purchased a car there several weeks earlier, I thought I might get a decent deal from this dealer. The car they were offering had a rip in the back fender (plastic) which they showed no interest in fixing and their trade-in offer was below what I eventually got elsewhere. They did not earn my business.
