My first car buying experience can only be described as incredibly pleasant. Walking onto the lot I was prepared for what everyone told me would be "one of the longest days of my life". I was greeted by Al Herbst who cheerfully asked me a list of what I was looking for and showed me every car that met my needs. Once I found the one I loved he welcomed me into his office and offered the complementary water and coffee while he had someone appraise my car I was trading in. Once he could tell me what my car was worth we started talking numbers. I told him my budget and he found a way to meet all of my requests. I needed time to think it over and told him I would be back after lunch and he did not pressure me to make a deal at all before I walked out the door. He politely handed me his card and told me to call him once I had made my decision. After a short lunch I knew that I wanted the car and headed back to BMW. Al found a way to get me in and out of the door fairly quickly. I left with a smile on my face, a free mug, keychain and iPhone adapter, and most importantly a car buying experience that had not once ounce of pressure.
