My Review Of Bill Kay Nissan of Downers Grove:
On Saturday, October 27, 2012, I went to Bill Kay Nissan knowing exactly what kind of car I wanted. When arriving at the dealership I was greeted by a very friendly salesman named, Greg. What I wanted wasn't in their inventory but Greg and a "general manager" offered to order the vehicle for me. I gave them a $500 deposit and they promised me they would either locate the vehicle in transit and have it shipped to Bill Kay’s facility or they would order it from the factory. At most, they told me it would take 6 weeks. I was thrilled and felt satisfied my needs were being met.
Greg told me he would call me on Monday and let me know the status of the transaction. Monday came, no phone call. Tuesday came, no phone call. So I called him. No return. Called again. He returned my call, with no news on the transaction. He said he'd let me know the status by Friday. Friday came, no phone call. I waited until the following Tuesday and I ended up calling him. He returned my call with the same story--they have been unable to locate one in transit. He said he will definitely know something by Friday--I can count on a call. Friday comes, no phone call. Waited all weekend. I called Greg on Monday, no return phone call. I called and left messages for Greg every other day for 6 business days. He never returned a call.
Well, I had enough, I went into the dealership on Saturday, December 8th—42 days after they took my $500 deposit to get an explanation. Greg greeted me at the door friendly as usual, I had to re-introduce myself and then he remembered me and proceeded to tell me the same story that they were having no luck locating the vehicle I was looking for. I asked for my deposit back and then drove 25 miles north to St. Charles Nissan. In the 30 minutes I was inside the dealership in St. Charles, they guaranteed me they could help me out—they located what I was looking for and made delivery of my vehicle within 4 days of my visit.
I was absolutely shocked at the lack of responsiveness of Bill Kay Nissan. I didn’t even need to be sold, I was ready to buy, finance friendly and all they had to do is find something. Just a complete and total failure by Greg and Bill Kay Nissan… but he was a nice guy.
