AN APPOINTMENT AT 1PM I GOT A CALL TO GET MY VEHICLE ASAP BEFORE THEY CLOSED ON FRIDAY AT 6:30PM THE MANAGER WAS ONLY ABLE TO SAY "well, we were busy today" On top of all that and the awful terrible customer service they overcharged me for some bs extra special oil I didn't sign off on AND never called me to confirm things before doing them EVEN THOUGH I SPECIFICALLY REQUIRED THEM TO. FUCKIN RIDICULOUS. I got cheated and treated like shit. I'm never going back here. More

Later we used an internet car buying service to look for that model. Camelback Toyota was one of 2 or 3 that responded. Their quoted price included "Total Dealer Fees & Accessories". On contacting Duarte, he quoted a price that was $200 over the internet price. It took quite a while to sort this out. It was as though there was very poor communication within the dealership. I was not happy and Duarte become angry. In the end, I told him that we would pay only $300 less than the price he was quoting (because we could get the car for much less elsewhere if we were willing to wait). He agreed he could sell it for $300 less. The car was actually in transit to the dealership, and Duarte told us that we should be there when it arrived, because they would sell it to the first customer who made an acceptable offer. He also said he would let us know when it arrived. Strangely, the dealership offered us an appointment on a Friday close to the expected delivery day, without being sure when the car would arrive. On Wednesday, I was reminded of this and told that Duarte would be there. On Friday, we called just before the appointment and discovered that Duarte was at a wedding in Florida and that the car had been sold on Thursday. More

They would rather forfeit a sale than let up on tactics I started working with Barry Fox, as part of the Costco Auto Program, and said I was a Gen X'er with a Millennial sensibility; meaning, I wanted email I started working with Barry Fox, as part of the Costco Auto Program, and said I was a Gen X'er with a Millennial sensibility; meaning, I wanted email only, to have it be as straight-forward and easy as possible. I received two phone calls in the same day, multiple emails, and a video about the salesman. I was looking to buy a car, not a new friend or a date! The next day, after I'd indicated that I would be interested in a test drive, but was not certain if I could make it there, or at any specific time, the salesperson wanted me to confirm a time, and preemptively gave my info to the fleet manager, whom I'd had no contact with - and who then called(!!) to say that I'd a scheduled test drive at a time I'd never agreed to! I drove to the dealership, asked to speak with the Customer Relations Mgr, a first, and was basically dressed down by Kim McKay, when I tried to explain my experience thus far was a negative one, and why. At that point, I asked that they ease up on their aggressive sales tactics, received a reply that was there was basically no pleasing me and no, they would not modify their actions. I thanked her, and left - blown away by the fact the business would rather throw away a sale than be a decent partner in the sales process. I do not understand why we can now buy things (including appliances, even homes!) online without a fuss or headache in 2019, but the car sales industry is stuck in the 1970s! More
