Cloninger Ford of Hickory

So I bought a car in September 2022 ford escape with 11,000 miles from Cloinger Ford of Hickory. Well needless to say I have only drove this car maybe a month and a half the whole time I have had it. (5 months of payments)First there was something wrong with my back breaks, a week after I got it. Then after that I had a ticking in my back tire, my defrost/heat didn't work on passager side (dual heat and air but still blow out only cold air with heat). They gave me the run around and didn't want to schedule an appointment to get fix, even after talking with service manager, still wanted me to wait a month to get it in. Well I had to wait. I even went back to see about trading it for something else, but no they didn't want to help me. ( I feel like they knew it was a bad car). Then finally they got it in to work on it the end of October. They told me several time in November it was fixed but went to check and wasn't fixed. This took about 5 to 6+ time for us to do this and called Ford motor service for anything to be done. They got it on December 7 and had to order a part and take dash off, one part they ordered still didn't fix it so had to order another part. Dash off again. I went through this and didn't get my car back until end of January. In the mean time they tried to put me in my car with no heat in the coldest time of the year. Well when I got it there was 2 big screw driver marks in the dash, and they didn't even attempt to fix it then. 2 days after getting it back, Well realized my miles until E was counting up to empty not down like suppose to be. Was told it was normal, (what that is not normal). Ask several Mechanics and Ford motor service and no that's not normal. Well I still don't have my car 2 weeks later. I got my car back and it still not fixed. Sent it in for several thing, dadh marks are fixed but not the auto off, it doesnt work at all and miles to empty is still counting up, was told have to drive 500 miles to fix it. I don't want this car. And they want help me trade or anything. I don't want to send it to bank and make my credit bad but I might have no choice. More

I was rear-ended and my truck was totaled. I had a very short time to find a vehicle. Living 100 miles away, I was very pleased with Cloninger website; the vehicles advertised were on the lot I had a very short time to find a vehicle. I was set on purchasing a '22 Honda CR-V, which most don't look for on a Ford lot. The Cloninger staff did not call me repeatedly, but would promptly provide detailed information when I requested. My sales person, Jonathan Preston, went the extra mile in assisting me: answering my bazillion questions, filling the tank up, and taking me to return my rental. Jon had previously worked at a Honda dealership and was very knowledgeable. And Thomas Tester and Mike Davis, were very reasonable when arriving at the final price; although the dealer fees were the higher than all others and, of course, non-negotiable. Never once did I feel pressured, nor did I have to endure any sales pitches. When I arrived to pick up my new (to me) vehicle, collectively, the staff at Cloninger exceeded my expectations, with their prompt and courteous assistance. While I did not plan on having to purchase a vehicle, Cloninger made the transaction an enjoyable one. Thank you and keep up the good work. More

I let the dealership run my credit. I thought that was it. One pull. 30 minutes later ford motor credit ran it again. Two pulls for one purchase. I only authorized one. I am 60 miles away so had to comminucate by phone or text a lot prior to driving to see the truck that I wanted. I treated my salesman like he was out in a corn field somewhere and had nothing better to do a lot prior to driving to see the truck that I wanted. Then we arrived to look at it and he and his brother took excellent care of me and my wife but the problem was we had an appointment and needed to leave asap. So they did a great job of rushing the paperwork into the final office where the last of the paperwork but we still had to sit with the final guy. This was a big pain. Did not seem to matter to him at all that we really, really needed to move on rather than waste time talking. We just wanted to sign and leave but he seemed to have a different agenda. When we said we did not want added items to the contract at an extra cost he would not take no for an answer. He just kept pushing and pushing and even put us down by saying "why don't you want this coverage? You don't like saving moey or what?" And even when I did not want some kind of oil change coverage with them especially since I live 60 miles away he still would not take no for an answer here either. The guy just kept wasting our time until my wife just stood up "are you done with me".. He didn't say thank you, kiss my rear or anything. Just kept his crappy b.s. hard nose attitude and said without looking up "ya, you can go". I said so are we done and he said no. Very poor representation for a classy dealership. I have bought many new / used cars for me, my wife and all my children and Inever ran into such an impolite pushey, rude and even argumentative person at a dealership in my life.
