I recently had my car's oil changed. The service was exceptional and I will be having my car services there in the future. Thanks to Dave for making this a great experience. Finance Dept does a bait and switch. You’re assuming that you’re signing for a low interest rate and a short term, but you end up signing for a higher interest rate and longer term You’re assuming that you’re signing for a low interest rate and a short term, but you end up signing for a higher interest rate and longer term More
My wife and I purchased a used Ford mustang convertible from Coastal Hyundai in October 2023. The sales, finance, and service department were great. But, the general manager Coy is the kind of man who does from Coastal Hyundai in October 2023. The sales, finance, and service department were great. But, the general manager Coy is the kind of man who does not keep his word at all. Since buying the car with an expensive warranty, we have driven this car a handful of times. This car had serious mechanical issues with it not starting and not due to any battery issues or lacking gas. I've lost count of the number of times we returned the car for mechanical failure. It even got sent to Ford for help at one point. Each time we returned it for repair we were given a loaner car... that is the least Coy could do to be a good human, much less general manager. I really became angry when my wife dropped off the car for repair right before Christmas and there were no loaners available, so they sent her to crappy Thrifty rental in the high crime area of Melbourne. Shania, in the service department, did not even verify that crappy Thrifty accepted our insurance provider. So, my tiny petite wife got shuttled to Thrifty and left there to find out Thrifty does not work with our policy provider, my wife called Coastal. Initially, she was told by Shania (who arranged this rental) to just "get an Uber". Thrifty closed for the day as my wife sat on the street corner with all of her belongings like her purse, laptop bag, etc. I told her to call the dealership and insist they come pick her up until I could get there. So, my wife had to walk in the dark from Thrifty to a nearby gas station and thankfully a Melbourne PD officer was at that gas station. My wife had to call the dealership again to beg for a ride back to the dealership until I could pick her up. This pissed me off completely because my wife is barely 5 feet tall and had all of her belongings on her. Thankfully, someone from the sales department picked her up and brought her to the dealership so I could pick her up. After the holidays, the car was supposed to return to the dealership for mechanical repair on 1/3/24, but on 1/2/24, my wife was rear-ended in this car and injured and had to go to the hospital in an ambulance. The accident happened literally the day before our car was scheduled for the hump-teenth repair. Once collision work was done at Cocoa Hyundai, my wife immediately returned the rental car from the at fault party and took custody of our car to continue the maintenance work. We were told that once collision was done, we would schedule continued maintenance and get a loaner car as we always had. Cocoa Hyundai immediately offered a loaner then almost immediately per general manager Coy, my wife was ordered to return the car. We were informed that the car would need to go to a nearby Ford place for repair and we were fine with Ford working on a Ford car, but general manager Coy has repeatedly denied us a loaner vehicle even though that was the deal and had always been the deal. My wife has texted Coy repeatedly. Sometimes she gets a response and sometimes not. But, the basic responses are "above my head" per Coy and he insists that a local Ford can give us a loaner car. We have called all the Ford places in Brevard and Orange counties and we have contacted our warranty policy providers and even corporate Hyundai. All have consistently told us that the SELLER COASTAL HYUNDAI is responsible for giving us a loaner vehicle. I feel like Coy is giving my wife the runaround because she is a woman.. I went to the dealership myself in-person before 5 pm when general manager Coy typically leaves. Neither Cocoa or Coastal will ever volunteer his whereabouts when asked. Since I could not locate him in person yesterday, I called and left him a voicemail, yet he is still texting my wife that he will call her. No sir. I am a co-owner of the vehicle, so it is time I intervene. The only other theory I have is that maybe he does not want to deal with me because I am a black man. So, is it a woman thing, a racial thing? This is unjust! More
First let me begin by saying the sales and finance department were great. I have no issues with those departments. However, GM Coy S. does not always honor his word. I purchased a used vehicle from th department were great. I have no issues with those departments. However, GM Coy S. does not always honor his word. I purchased a used vehicle from this dealership in October 2023 and everything was smooth sailing. Within a couple days, the car began exhibiting very unusual mechanical failures, all of which were covered by the warranty we purchased. I've lost count of the number of times we returned this vehicle to Coastal for repair. They even outsourced some of the repair to a local Ford dealership. The car has been in the shop more than we have driven it and this has been ongoing since October, all the while we are still making payments on a car with some serious mechanical issues. The day before I was supposed to return the car for repair yet again, I was rear-ended, so the collision work had to be completed before they could continue with the mechanical work. I was told that once collision was done at Cocoa Hyundai's collision center to return the car back to Coastal to continue with the mechanical repair. I was told that I would be provided a loaner car. So, when I reached out to inform Coastal Hyundai that collision is done and the car is ready to move forward with the mechanical repair, I was expecting another loaner vehicle as promised. However, I was soon informed that my car would have to go to Ford again for repair, which is understandable. However, I was denied access to a loaner car. I was told that I would have to go to my warranty about rental reimbursement. Due to these repeated car failures, it has caused me on many occasions to be late to work, late to meetings, and make leave requests to leave early so I could transport the car to Coastal by 5:00 pm when their service department closes. Furthermore, on one occasion when the car experienced a failure, I was sent to Thrifty Rental by Coastal to get a vehicle because they claimed they had no loaners available. However, they dropped me off at Thrifty in the bad part of Melbourne alone to pick up the rental. As it turned out, Thrifty would not rent to me because they did not do business with my car insurance provider. That was a major oversight on Coastal's part because they had my insurance information on file and should have verified that Thrifty would rent to me. So, I am left stranded alone and in the dark (and I am a 5 foot tall petite woman who would've had no way to defend myself against a crazy person in the dark). I called Coastal to see if anyone could come pick me up. The very sweet people in the sales department picked me up, but I still had to walk alone to the nearest gas station in the dark to be picked up. But, luckily a Melbourne Police Officer pulled into the gas station which made me feel more comfortable. Furthermore, when the collision work was done with my car at Cocoa Hyundai, they were willing to give me a loaner until I could get the car to Ford safely and go from there. Then, in the next day or 2, the GM Coy S. ordered for me to return the loaner, so clearly he has no intentions of keeping his word and giving me a loaner vehicle. I should be given a loaner vehicle as promised because I am not in a financial position where I can afford a rental reimbursement. I'm just a teacher and not a millionaire. I do not understand why GM Coy backed down from so many promises made to me and why he won't assign me a loaner vehicle just so I can commute from Melbourne to Merritt Island, so that I can safely get to work and back until my car is repaired. I do not understand why GM Coy has broken his promises and I have plenty of text messages to support my claims with Coastal Hyundai, I beg you to give me a loaner car until the car you sold me is repaired. That's all I am asking. You sold me the car. Coy, it is only fair, good customer service, and for customer loyalty that you should honor this promise. More
Be cautious about purchasing used vehicles here. The sales department is fantastic and always very helpful. But, the general manager (Coy) has not honored promises to me. Here is the situation. I ba The sales department is fantastic and always very helpful. But, the general manager (Coy) has not honored promises to me. Here is the situation. I basically got sold a lemon and can't get a loaner car. My car has been returned to this dealership 3 times for repair for mechanical issues all covered by my warranty. I purchased a beautiful blue Ford Mustang convertible from them. I purchased a warranty and the gap insurance. Within days, the car began having mechanical issues. If the car sat for a long period of time like a standard 8 hour work day, it would crank. If I stopped to pump gas or buy groceries, my car would not crank. Many times it had to be jumped off by roadside. However, the battery or the fuel level were never the problem. I returned the car at least 3 times for repair and once it was sent to a local Ford dealer for repair. When we picked the car up for the final time, it continued to malfunction. Then, I got rear-ended the day before I was supposed to return the car for the another repair. When the collision work was was done, I was supposed to return my car for the additional mechanical repair and get a loaner car. I was later told by the GM Coy that my car would have to be sent to a different Ford dealership for repair and he denied me a loaner car. I was told I would have to go through my warranty (after diagnostics) that I would have to rent a car for $35 per day, meaning I would have to pay for rental upfront and then be reimbursed up to $35 per day. Their other dealership in Cocoa gave me a loaner car for about a day, but then the GM Coy overrode Cocoa and had me return the loaner car, leaving me stuck with my mechanically unreliable car. This has cost me money at work in terms of leave (late arrivals or early departures). And, it is making me look very bad as employee because it is giving the impression that I, as an individual am unreliable (rather than understanding it is my car that is unreliable. I no longer have any any accrued leave time left, so I am losing money as we speak. Again, I do not fault the sales staff because they have gone out of their way to be helpful at times. The worst part, is I am still paying for a car the I cannot consistently drive. It has been in the shop for repair more times than I have driven it. It is just sitting in my driveway taking up space right now, all the while I am still making payments. i feel like the most fair thing to do would be for Coastal Hyundai to at least offer me a loaner vehicle until mine is repaired or until it is replaced. The salesman and service department have been understanding. It is only the GM Coy that has made this much harder on me than it needed to be and allowed this to affect my salary and harm my professional reputation for all the times I was late to work due to car issues or all the times I had to leave early to return my car to the service department. Be very cautious when dealing with GM Coy because he has certainly not kept his word to me. He will not even reply to my text messages or phone calls as we speak evening though I've basically begged him on my knees to just at least give me a loaner car so I can commute safely to and from work until the mechanical issues are fully repaired. I am in tears constantly because this is causing a great disruption to my job, my professional, reputation, and to my and husband and myself's personal finances. Again, I am not asking for anything other than a loaner car. GIven that Coastal Hyundai of Melbourne sold me the vehicle, the very least that GM Coy could do is give me a loaner or assistance with rental because they sold me the car. More
