He helped us test drive two of the three cars we were interested in and advised us very objectively. He did not pressure us to choose the newest, most expensive one. The sales manager also came to discuss the three cars. He noted that he reviewed every used car that came in, to determine their condition and price. We wanted an extended warranty, so Ben Burnett helped us choose the best one for us, given that we intend to keep the car for many years. Ben knew the extended warranties backwards and forwards, which gave us greater confidence that we were making the right choice. When we picked the car up, Jeff walked me through the infotainment system and the car's other features and swept the snow off before we drove it away. We had an excellent experience with everyone we interacted with at DePaula Mazda and recommend the dealership to anyone interested in buying a Mazda. More
The car was in to install front brake dust covers due to premature and uneven wear of front pads pursuant to service bulletin. While doing the work, a leaking front axle was observed. The part was on backor premature and uneven wear of front pads pursuant to service bulletin. While doing the work, a leaking front axle was observed. The part was on backorder and took a week to get. When I picked up the car, clearly there was a problem with the axle installation and the car wouldn't move. The next day, it was discovered that the axle had been installed incorrectly by the technician but nobody had checked the repair before telling me to pick up the car. The service manager apologized profusely and went out of his way to try to make it right. He agreed to have my car delivered to my home, given that I had made a 75 mile round trip only to find the car wouldn't move. He also had the car cleaned and detailed inside and out. I appreciate this courtesy although it doesn't explain the failure of the original technician to test the car after completing the initial axle swap. Had he done so, it would have been clear that he had screwed something up. This is not my first experience with faulty work being done on this car by this service department. When the car was new, the service department improperly installed a factory trailer hitch. This almost got me killed when the car died while traveling at 75 mph on a busy expressway. It was later determined that the installer had incorrectly routed the trailer lighting wire too close to the exhaust, causing a major and very dangerous electrical failure in the car. The two incidents together give me little confidence in the quality of work done at this shop. More
