They sold me a car with a broken steering system, junky wheel bearings, and at this point, who knows what else. The car was making a weird noise when I test drove it. The salesman took it to a mechanic wheel bearings, and at this point, who knows what else. The car was making a weird noise when I test drove it. The salesman took it to a mechanic who said it was because of the brakes and was nothing to worry about because it would go away. A couple months later the entire steering system completely broke, rendering the car undrivable. Luckily that happened in a parking lot and not on the highway because I could've died if it had. I tried to get in touch with the salesman to see if he could help with fixing that, but he didn't answer my emails or calls. I got that fixed with a different mechanic. The sound didn't go away because apparently, the broken steering system wasn't what was causing it. I asked a few different mechanics what it could be and they all said it was probably the wheel bearings (I also asked each of them if it could be the brakes and they all said "Definitely not."). When I confronted the salesman about the incorrect diagnosis his defense was "Well it's a Mazda and it was a Subaru mechanic who told me that." I guess wheel bearing issues are specific to Mazdas and non-existent in Subarus. Or maybe Subarus don't have wheel bearings. Your guess is as good as mine. I took the car back the dealership because they said they'd take care of it. They gave me a loaner, which was nice of them, but then I went two weeks with no updates for a problem they were supposedly able to diagnose before I even took the car in. I got the car back and it was STILL making the noise. I don't know what they thought they fixed, but it certainly wasn't the issue at hand. So the salesman told me he would have to get his favorite trusted mechanic to go on a test drive with me so I could show them exactly what I was hearing (there was no difference in the noise before and after I gave it to them). This was supposedly the same mechanic who had worked on the car before, but on the drive he acted like he had never heard the sound my car was making in his life. I got another loaner and gave my car back to them. Another two weeks and they told me my car was ready. I went out to the dealership, dropped off the loaner, and waited at their pick up spot for them to bring my car around. I stood there for 45 minutes before they told me they were having some trouble starting the car. I watched them pull out five different chargers to try and jump the battery. I called the loaner vehicle coordinator to see if I could get another loaner while they figured out this new problem because I didn't have time to sit there all day. She told me they didn't have any other loaners available but they could get me a Lyft to work. I was already an hour and a half late, I had missed a meeting, and I had planned on making a few stops on my way in, but that didn't happen because they were perfectly content to let me sit on the curb in their parking lot for an hour. They got me a Lyft to work. I was late, and I really could have used a car that day, but they gave my loaner to someone else before making sure my car was good to go, and apparently didn't have a single other one. I went all day without a word. I finally had to call and after getting sent to voicemail four times and put on hold six, they told me the battery was completely dead and needed to be replaced, which I'm not saying is their fault, but it did seem awfully convenient... I hadn't had an issue with starting the car before giving it to them. I have asked the salesman about the possibility of returning the car several times given the preexisting damage and a questionable history that wasn't disclosed to me at the time of purchase. He dodges the question every time. The noise still isn't gone and when I reach out I get ignored. More

Brad was an absolute joy to work with. No pressure from anyone (okay, maybe the finance guy showed some displeasure with my decision not to spend $2900 for an extended warranty), but that’ No pressure from anyone (okay, maybe the finance guy showed some displeasure with my decision not to spend $2900 for an extended warranty), but that’s just the bean counter. I highly recommend this dealership and their salesman Brad Malmgren. More
This will be long so beware. We bought a Wagoneer from Doug Smith a little over two months ago. Despite hearing horror stories about this dealership, we moved forward because the We bought a Wagoneer from Doug Smith a little over two months ago. Despite hearing horror stories about this dealership, we moved forward because they had a car we liked and we needed to get something that was dependable due to our frequent road trips. As I drove off the lot, we noticed the CarPlay and passenger screen ($2500 upgrade) didn’t work. Called the salesman and he told us to bring it back and they’d do a hard reset. Brought it in, where it sat at service for a full two days before we were told their “computer system was down”. Brought it in the next week again where we were told it would be fixed asap. The manager then called after I started to get frustrated when it hadn’t been worked on for days. He let me know this was a company wide problem they were aware of and that it is not fixable until Jeep releases an update. Zero word that this was a problem while we were in the process of purchasing the car, despite the fact that they’ve known about it for months. Fast forward a few weeks and our engine makes an exploding sound. Car is UNDRIVEABLE. Get it in AGAIN, leave it for two weeks (they did get us a rental that sat 6 people…we have seven in our family so not all that helpful) and acted like they had done us a huge favor doing that. This week, what do you know, we get a braking functionality error and have to take it in again. I am FED up at this point. Our BRAND NEW $90,000 car that should be reliable is having braking issues?! Really?? So I reached out again asking if someone can PLEASE help us. We need a reliable car and this clearly isn’t it. No one at the dealership cares. They offered to “buy it back” for a 25,000 dollar loss. Zero regard for the fact that we’ve done nothing wrong. They know about all of these problems and continue to sell unreliable, crappy cars with no customer service or accountability whatsoever. Avoid this place like the plague. We’ve bought six cars from Brent Brown and I can tell you 100% they would make this right. I will never purchase from a Doug smith dealership again. The only person who has given an ounce of care to us is our service rep, even he agreed this whole thing is completely unacceptable More
Good people and painless process. I definitely did not feel pressured or rushed in any way. They didn’t have the exact model and color that I wanted but found one and brought it in. While we had a great experience with the purchase of our vehicle, the service department was as bad an experience as it could be. They have had our truck for two weeks and no work has been completed. Gettin vehicle, the service department was as bad an experience as it could be. They have had our truck for two weeks and no work has been completed. Getting updates is excruciating. Dirk, our service advisor has been absolutely terrible. We call, text, and even visit in person, but until we spoke to the service manager, Nate, we never received information from Dirk. Dirk also tries to lie and make excuses saying he was waiting on an answer from us when not only did both of us have several conversations regarding the repairs in question, but we also have them in writing to indicate when they occurred. When we came to the dealership in person after the lack of response, Dirk saw my husband in the lobby and sent a text message response to try to cover for his lack of communication. He then approached my husband and just said "have you not gotten my text messages?" before he even greeted him or asked why he was at the dealership. Dirk has absolutely no customer service skills and will not take care of your needs. As a result of their lack of accountability and poor customer service, we have incurred hundreds of dollars in additional charges for a rental car. Buy a car here, but take it ANYWHERE else to be serviced. They are extremely unprofessional and will absolutely treat you like garbage. More
let me tell you what happened Brought my truck in for a diagnostic, which I was charged almost $200, they gave us the diagnostic and we agreed on doing the procedure which we were quoted around $5.000, we diagnostic, which I was charged almost $200, they gave us the diagnostic and we agreed on doing the procedure which we were quoted around $5.000, we asked if we were going to get the issue fixed and they said yes, of course, it’s a very simple fix, the advisor was Collin and me and ny husband asked him like 2-3 times, once we pay this the truck is gonna run, he said yes it is. Ok we saved the money for 2-4 weeks and we came back to finally get it done, truck already at the dealership, 2 weeks later they call me saying the found some other issues in my truck so we will need to pay another $4.000 on top of the $5k… I asked the lady helping me (kiley?) how this didn’t come up with the original diagnostic? Now we have to pay $5k for a truck that is still not running? We went in in our lunch break to talk to a manager, the manager was not there, so we couldn’t talk to anybody yet More
