Communication from the service advisor, who is the assistant service manager, was nearly non-existent. I had to initiate all communication. I brought my car in early in the morning. At the end of the day I contacted the service advisor and was told was that the service contract provider had not yet given authorization for the repair. I then arranged to pick my car up. Days later I contacted the service contract provider myself and was informed that the authorization for the repair had been provided to Elk Grove Ford days ago. I again contacted the service advisor and let them know that the repair was authorized. I then had to wait for parts to be ordered. I was not informed when the parts were received. After several days, I again initiated communication with the service advisor to schedule an appointment to bring my car back in for the final repair. All together a repair that should have been completed in one day took over 2 weeks to complete. If this was a repair that could have been completed somewhere other than the dealership I would have never taken my car to Elk Grove Ford and, based on my experience, in the future I will take my car to a different Ford dealership in the area. I came to Elk Grove Ford ready to purchase a specific used car, but the experience was frustrating from start to finish. The customer service was terrible. I was quoted $2,500 for an extended warranty used car, but the experience was frustrating from start to finish. The customer service was terrible. I was quoted $2,500 for an extended warranty. After signing everything electronically, I was given a flash drive with all my documents, but when I checked it later, it was completely empty. I let Javier know, and he said he would email me the documents. When he finally did, the email was empty. I had to follow up again before he sent the files the next day. When I reviewed the documents, I discovered I had been charged $4,000 for the warranty. I contacted Javier, who claimed the higher cost was because he supposedly lowered my loan interest rate and the difference was reflected in the warranty price. That explanation made no sense, especially since my interest rate had not changed at all. It felt like he assumed I wouldn’t notice or question the extra charge. I told him to cancel the warranty. He sent me the cancellation form right away and claimed he submitted it. Weeks later, after no changes showed up on my loan, I contacted the warranty company and found out they never received the form. He lied about submitting it. I had to send it myself to finally get the cancellation process started. This whole experience was dishonest, careless, and incredibly frustrating. I do not recommend doing business with Elk Grove Ford. More
