My Review of Exton Nissan:
I was looking for a certain car and he called me repeatedly. I was a first time buyer and was very unhappy with his numerous calls. I bought another car from another dealer because he bothered me too much. If I want to buy a nissan, I will come to him. I wanted someone to give me some space and to be a little nicer.

My Review of Exton Nissan:
Last fall my check engine light came on. (Maxima 2000 SE) My private mechanic diagosed this problem with his computer equipment an obtained code P0171(engine lean) He ordered an oxogen sensor from Exton Nissan. After clearing the code the light stayed off. My mechanic suggested waiting before repacing this part. Light stayed off for several months. In March light came on again and the oxogen sensor was replaced. Two weeks later the check engine light came on again. My mechanic tested again anf got the same code as before. He checked his computer service for advice and found that their had been a factory bulletin to reprogram the computer (ECU) when a new oxogen sensor is installed. This is the one service that he can not provide, and he advised that I go to Exton Nissan to have this service performed. I made an apointment for this work but the dealer could not do it because the check engine light was off. Dealer claimed that only they could diagnose thie engine. Later that day after leaving dealership the light came on and I made an appointment for the following Tuesaday.

TUESDAY SERVICE

Diagnosed engine an came up with same code. Insisited that I needed to replace Mass Air Flow Sensor. I asked why? Thet advised that that was what the daignostic computer said. I asked what was the code number? They told me that it was the same as my private mechanic had obtained both in the fall and that morning before it arrived at dealership. I told them that that was the code for engine lean and not the code for a Mass Air Sensor. I told them that the codes for Mass Air Sensor were in the 100 to 104 range. These codes are public knowledge and are listed in codes books that mechanics use to diagnose car to meet Fed. Air quality standard. They insisted that reprograming the computer without rerpacing this additional part would not solve this problem. I asked why the part did not diagnose as deffective. They stated that perhaps the part was only partialy defective. Not bad enough to have the computer indicte that it was bad. Just bad enought to trip check engine light. I did not then and do not now believe this. However I had now spent 3 hours there on this visit and told them to dop the work and that I would contact Nissan Consumer Affaiirs to complain about being forced to repacea party that did not test defective in order to get my car's computer reprogramed.

This car had problems with its check engine light in 2001 and they reprogramed the computer under warranty to sole the problem without replacing any parts.

CONCLUSSION

(1) I guess it is okey to cheat the consumer but not the factory.
(2) Consumer Affairs Dept of no help

My Review of Exton Nissan:
If you don't know what to do with all your money, take your Nissan here for service. About 13 months ago, my check engine light turned on. Unfortunately, my normal mechanic doesn't deal with this, so I made my first visit to this beautiful, rock-fronted building (paid for in every sales or service call). The O2 sensor and associated labor lightened my wallet by over $400. Exactly a year later, the light was back on. But I outwaited it this time, and it shut off.

Then, a wiper linkage needed replacing. That was $190.11 on June 11. It was supposed to be done in less than an hour. After two hours, I went to the service desk and asked. They said they'd paged me but I didn't answer. The question, before proceeding with the wiper repair, was did I want the regular checkup for a little over $800. After another hour or two, I escaped. The $190.11 looked like a bargain.
