I had a GV70 serviced at Genesis of Kirkland. I was misled on the fuel additive, and services were recommended that were not needed. I immediately left after my oil change and went to two other dealerships and a foreign car repair shop; all three stated that the one item they stated "needed immediate attention," the $239 cabin filter, was fine until the next oil change. Keep in mind this vehicle had approximately 7500 (e) miles on it at service yesterday, but was bought as certified from a Genesis dealer. All filters had been changed at 4150 (e) miles. This means that approximately 3,350 (e) miles were put on the vehicle since all filters, etc., had been changed. The second highly recommended work was the sunroof drain, A/C system cleaning, and an alignment, totaling $750. Again, I declined. Since no sunroof, I do not need it drained. I do not think I need an A/C system cleaning since it has not been used, and it has 7500 (e) miles on it. The alignment was needed, and I completed it yesterday at Les Schwab for $146.00. Oil change, fuel additive, junk fee of around $38, plus a 3% fee for cc use total bill was around $376. If I had agreed to the additional service, it would have been $1365.00. This is for a vehicle with approximately 7500 miles on it. Genesis is a great vehicle. I have owned Genesis in the past. I feel that this dealership lacks integrity, at least in the service department. I will not be back. Now, if you want to go to a GREAT Genesis dealership, one that has integrity and will treat you as they should, go to Portland Genesis. More
The staff at this dealership were dismissive, rude, and ultimately unprofessional. We were interested in a value vehicle (around $8,000) and called to request that it be transferred to a sister dealership ultimately unprofessional. We were interested in a value vehicle (around $8,000) and called to request that it be transferred to a sister dealership closer to our home. Initially, the sales manager was polite, but as soon as he learned the purpose of our call, his tone changed dramatically. He began cutting us off, raised his voice, and eventually hung up the phone. That kind of behavior is completely unacceptable — especially from someone in a leadership role. If this is how they treat potential customers before a sale, I can only imagine how they’d handle things afterward. Go elsewhere. More
If I could give zero stars, I would. I initially called Genesis of Kirkland about a GV70 they had on the lot. I was told Dylan, the sales manager, would get back to me. He never did. I initially called Genesis of Kirkland about a GV70 they had on the lot. I was told Dylan, the sales manager, would get back to me. He never did. A week later, I followed up and was passed off to Erik, who promised to work up numbers and financing options. I had already secured pre-approvals from two other places, but I gave them a shot to earn my business. Again — no follow-up. After another week of silence, I reached out again and was told (falsely) that I had informed them I’d bought another car and was no longer interested — completely untrue. Eventually, I received numbers and decided to proceed with the purchase. I flew in to Kirkland, signed all the paperwork, paid a $10,000 down payment, and was told the rest would be handled — plates mailed, paperwork sent, financing submitted. I drove off thinking the deal was done. Fast forward 45+ days, and I had received: • No license plates • No paperwork • No contact from the bank When I called the credit union, they couldn’t even find me in their system. After some digging, they located a paper file — meaning nothing had been submitted electronically. The bank told me they’d been trying to get the dealership to respond for two weeks — with no luck. So now I’m the one being asked to put pressure on the dealer. Once I did, the dealership finally sent me the credit application — weeks after I bought the car. I signed and returned it promptly. Then, 10 days later, I got a call saying I had one hour to sign it again or the deal would fall through. No explanation. No accountability. To make matters worse: • I was told multiple times my plates were being overnighted. They weren’t. I returned home to Kentucky — no plates. They outright lied. • I was also told they had heard from the bank and that the loan was now complete. That appears to be yet another falsehood, as I’ve received zero confirmation from the bank — no documents, no welcome letter, nothing. My temporary tags have now expired, and I can’t legally drive the vehicle. So now I’m either Ubering to work or gambling that I won’t be pulled over — all because Genesis of Kirkland couldn’t do the most basic part of their job. I’ve bought, sold, and leased over 30 cars in my life. I’m nearly 60 years old and have never experienced a dealership this disorganized, unprofessional, and outright shady. Whether this is incompetence or willful deception, it’s unacceptable. Do yourself a favor: AVOID Genesis of Kirkland. They are not worth the time, the stress, or the risk. More
I recently had a terrible experience at Genesis of Kirkland that I feel compelled to share. I simply wanted to get an oil change for my GV80, but the ordeal turned into a nightmare. First, I had to wa Kirkland that I feel compelled to share. I simply wanted to get an oil change for my GV80, but the ordeal turned into a nightmare. First, I had to wait a ridiculous seven weeks just to get an appointment. When I finally booked it, I was told the service would take 60-90 minutes, and I agreed to wait there. However, when I arrived, it was clear they had scheduled too many people at the same time. Despite initially telling me it would be 90 minutes, they quickly changed the estimate to 2.5 to 3 hours. They offered a complimentary car wash but strongly discouraged it because it would add another 60-90 minutes, so I declined. After waiting 3.5 hours for just an oil change, I was hit with an outrageous bill. They charged a hefty shop fee on top of an already overpriced service, and then added another surcharge for using a credit card. The total came out to nearly $400 for an oil change, and this was after I declined all additional services. No discount was offered despite the excessive delays. To make matters worse, the building was in terrible condition—nothing like what you'd expect from a luxury brand. The ceiling had water and mold stains, there were holes in it, and the overall facility was old and poorly maintained. They tried to sell me on their new store being better once it's completed, but based on this experience, I will never return. Genesis of Kirkland, you should be ashamed of this level of service. If you value your time, money, and experience, I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. More
