jabberwocky 5/15/2013 11:57:32 PM Reason For Visit: Service I Recommend This Dealer: No Employee(s) Dealt With: Arnold Muse Customer Service: 1 Quality of Work: 1 Friendliness: 1 Overall Experience: 1 Pricing: 1 Overall Score: 1.0 My Review Of Grossinger City Autoplex: MOST DISHONEST / WORST CUSTOMER SERVER EVERI received a recall on my car and in the letter it said that if the engine light came on that I needed to take it into the dealership and have the fuel pump replaced. So I did just that. I dropped off the car at 7am on a Monday morning to have the fuel pump replaced. Arnold Muse called me at about 8:40 to let me know what they found out. He informed me that the fuel pump module was broken and would be replaced and covered by the manufacturer's warranty. This part would arrive next day and they could replace the broken part then. He was very rude in doing so and I had to keep asking questions to figure out what exactly was happening because he was not up front and clear.I was told that they also found additional things wrong with the car that were not covered by warranty via the diagnostic test. He noted that running tests to find out the exact problems would cost $140. Normally I would have just taken it some where else as this is rather high for a full diagnostic test but I had it done at the dealership for piece of mind. I told Arnold I will give me a call back because I needed to talk it over with my boyfriend first.I called Arnold at around 9am for clarification and to confirm that we wanted the tests done. After not hearing any results of the tests all morning and afternoon I called at 3pm for an update. Arnold quoted me the cost for parts and labor for additional work was $675 plus tax. I said I would need to talk over this service with my boyfriend and because of the high cost and we really only wanted to take care of what we had covered under our warranty.I called him up again around 4pm to let him know we could not afford the additional work at this time and asked if we could get a parts and work list which he agreed to provide. I said all we would need done currently was the work covered by the warranty. I asked when I could expect the job to be completed next day and he estimated around 4pm (about 24hrs from the time I called him Monday). Since we have only 1 shared car to run errands after work I asked if I stopped by I could pickup the car if we needed it. He said that was fine and I agreed to return the car the next morning if I picked it up so they could get the work done. However, I forgot to call Arnold back to let him know we would be leaving the car at the shop overnight. Tuesday I called close to 4 PM to see if the work had been completed. I was shocked to hear Arnold say they had not worked on the car at all yet despite the part coming in. Since I had mistakenly forgot to call to verbally cancel need to pick the car up the night before he took that to mean I wanted no work done at all. I was never under the impression that the work was somehow hinging on whether or not I picked up the car to use the night before. Arnold complained to me that he waited around until 5 to have me pick up the car the day before. I am still confused at this complaint since the shop does not even close until 6pm.We finally got the car back after 3 days! 3 DAYS!!! And my car was making a rattling noise all of the sudden. Why would it do that? It sounded fine when I took it in. Believe it of not if the engine light hadn't come on I wouldn't have suspected anything to be wrong with the car. After about a week we decided to take it to Logan Auto Repair with the list Arnold provided of things he found wrong with the car. I took the car in at 9 AM and they had completed the work by Noon. Turns out the $675 worth of work that needed to be done to the car DIDN'T need to be done. There wasn't ANYTHING wrong with the parts Arnold said needed to be replaced. In fact, the issue was that they didn't put the parts back correctly and things weren't tightened down which is why I was hearing the rattling noise. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING!! I feel bamboozled! Swindled! Hoodwinked! A victim of dupery! Was this review helpful to you? Yes | No Thank you Review Options Report This Review | Respond To This Review | Print This Review Write a Review
Jmeinken 3/14/2013 10:23:47 AM Reason For Visit: Sales (Used) I Recommend This Dealer: Yes Employee(s) Dealt With: Jim monti Customer Service: 5 Quality of Work: 5 Friendliness: 5 Overall Experience: 5 Pricing: 5 Overall Score: 5.0 My Review Of Grossinger City Autoplex: Jim was very helpful salesman I knew what car I wanted when I got there and a few minor hiccups in the process I am the proud owner a my new car. However the experience of purchasing my first car was all but pleasant it took about seven hours with the first hour was them trying to find my car which was supposed to be ready and waiting for me hence why I called the day before to make an appointment after that the test drive was nice and Jim knew all about the car. So if you are looking to buy a vehicle go to grossinger and ask for Jim monti. It will be worth it in the end Was this review helpful to you? I knew exactly what I wanted and it took me 3 visits and multiple hours BEFORE getting to the paperwork and finance. Even after finalizing the car and the price, I probably sat in the office for 2-3 hours to fill out minor paperwork that the sales consultants have to manage. Everyone is nice, but they do waste your time. Was this review helpful to you? Yes | No Thank you Review Options Report This Review | Respond To This Review | Print This Review Write a Review

AMJJMA 9/8/2012 3:12:58 PM Reason For Visit: Sales (Used) I Recommend This Dealer: No Employee(s) Dealt With: Customer Service: 1 Quality of Work: N/A Friendliness: 1 Overall Experience: 1 Pricing: 1 Overall Score: 1.0 My Review Of Grossinger City Autoplex: I went to grossinger to get an offer on my 2008 Aveo I am considering selling. I went there for two reasons 1. because I had seen a sign posted that says "we'll buy from you even if you don't buy from us" and 2. Because my car's odometer was on the fritz which is a common problem for 08 Aveos and I figured the dealership would be aware of the issue. The experience was insulting, unprofessional, and laced with good old fashioned sexism. My car has hail damage and this is not something I am trying to hide nor do i feel the need to apologize for, however after Jay appraised my car he approached me as though I was burdening him with a piece of junk. He started by asking me how much I hoped to get out of this, then asked me if I'd filed an insurance claim for the hail damage and told me I'd already spent that money, and then proceeded to tell me how much money it would cost him to take on my car. When I explained that I didn't need his judgement calls or a lecture, that I'd simply come for an offer, he continued to tell me how hard it would be for him to take my car. Finally when he did make an offer he started it with "I don't mean t embarrass you but..." It was as though I had asked him to do something that is outside of the company's scope as opposed to something that they advertise with a huge sign when you walk in their service station. I spoke with his supervisor Ray and while he was very nice he still managed to make a number of assumptions about who I am and what kind of person I was. Ray also repeated a number of times "I don't know what happened or how things went bad so quickly. Jay is really a teddy bear." Those were certainly not words to comfort me in that situation as i was not looking for someone to snuggle with, rather someone who would make an offer on my car. All in all this staff needs some serious professional development. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Was this review helpful to you? frizzo1999 2/8/2012 4:00:28 PM Reason For Visit: Sales (New) I Recommend This Dealer: No Employee(s) Dealt With: Louis David Customer Service: 1 Quality of Work: 1 Friendliness: 1 Overall Experience: 1 Pricing: 1 Overall Score: 1.0 My Review Of Grossinger City Autoplex: I walked into the showroom and asked Louis David to test drive a 2012 Toyota 4Runner. After the test drive we sat down and discussed financing and trade amount. After agreeing on both finance terms and trade amount, I submitted a credit application and was told that the finance person needed to perform an additional step before finalizing the deal and was told I would be notified later that evening. Friday night via email Louis David asked me to submit 2 pay stubs, which I did and was again told that the financing was all set and I will hear back first thing Saturday morning. After not hearing from anyone Saturday morning I called back on Saturday and was told by Ernie Salinas that again financing was imminent and that I would hear back later that day. Sunday after again not hearing back from either Ernie nor Louis, I called Louis on his mobile and was told that he would call me first thing Monday morning with final confirmation. Today is Wednesday and I have not heard back from anyone from the Grossinger organization. When I walked into the show room I assumed that Grossinger was in the business of selling automobiles, apparently that assumption was wrong. Grossinger is in the business of deceiving customers and wasting their time, very interesting business model. Was this review helpful to you?
