Very honest dealorship , Howie is a great guy and highly recommend them. My family has bought four Honda Accords from them (yeah I know, we love Honda's) including myself. Very happy with purchase!

Really awful experience - steer clear whether for sales OR service. There is also a rich conversation between customers and employees here that I strongly reccommend before you spend your hard-earned money.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Boston:
The dealership in Brookline made false promises about taking our leased Honda on trade for a new Honda. They claimed that as part of the deal we would not have to pay the overage on the miles. After a month we got a bill from Honda leasing that we not only owed for the mileage but that we also owed a late fee for turning the car in late.

The car was turned into the dealer on time but they held onto it for a month.

Now they are not only refusing to pay the mileage as promised but they are not even helping us to straighten out the late fee issue.

We will never buy another car from Herb Chambers.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Boston:
Based solely on my experience, I would very much recommend against Herb Chambers. I phoned this dealership for a price on a new Honda. Over the phone, the sales rep quoted me sub-MSRP and invited me to come to the dealership for a test drive.

When I got there, they didn't have the car ("oh, we just sold it"). More importantly, all of a sudden the price was roughly $1700 above MSRP!! What? When I balked at this, they did the whole "talk to the sales manager" routine and eventually came back down to MSRP. They refused to honor the $400 internet coupon I had printed off their website, even though this sale was well within the terms listed on the coupon.

They flat-out refused to consider anything lower than MSRP. Oh well...the next day I called Boch Honda (another area dealer) and found the same vehicle for a few bucks below invoice. I was more than happy to buy at that price...this was a number that my Herb Chambers sales rep literally laughed at; at Boch, it was their first offer. With Boch, I had a very low-key, no-pressure transaction. At Herb Chambers, I felt like I was on some candid camera spoof.

Your experience may differ, but I won't be back.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Boston:
Most horrible car-buying experience ever--STAY AWAY!! Paid $400 extra for the pre-owned "certification." Dealer didn't provide ONE PAGE of documentation! What should've been provided but wasn't?

• Owners manual
• New Car Warranty manual
• Certified Warranty Booklet
• Copy of HCUC 150-pt. Inspection Checklist in Glove Box (Once completed)
• Radio Security Code

They also promised, but failed, to fix rear bumper damage, and delivered the car 2 days later than they had promised, with only 1 key (not specific to checklist, but not exactly "like new" either). As for the documentation, after 3 phone calls to the sales associate, his supervisor took my call and actually used the "they're in the mail" line. Suffice it to say--never got 'em. And will never give Herb Chambers another cent of my business!

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Boston:
I wanted to buy a new Honda and came into Herb Chambers Honda. The associate we dealt with was quite nice, took us for a test drive, and told us (my girlfriend and I) all about the cars. I was never going to buy a car upon just walking into the store and was merely test-driving to see if I liked a particular model. I was so hassled and pressured to put down a deposit I was completely turned off from this dealership. I told them I wanted a deal and they wouldn't give me anything. I got some advice from someone experienced in buying cars, called this dealership back to tell them I wanted to buy the car at invoice. They offered Edmunds.com invoice price (which was higher than the actual invoice) so I called up another dealership who was happy to sell at invoice. And while I was at Herb Chamber's Honda, I felt that the entire time the business manager was trying to get his hands on my wallet. He could not accept the idea that I wasn't going to leave a deposit on the car. I would never go back to this dealership. Additionally, a co-worker bought a car from this dealership and had a miserable experience. She bought a car that was, "coming in". It didn't come in for over two weeks and they kept telling her it'd be in Boston in a few days. They were dishonest so she hates this place more than I do.

Herb Chambers may have it, but you can't see it!
They seem to be the king of the "bait and switch"
I went to Herb Chambers in Boston and in Westboro, both times calling ahead and making sure they had the car I was looking for. Both times I arrived, the car was mysteriously not there.. in fact, I sat in the boston office, check book in hand ready to buy a car, I sat for an hour and half and was never able to even see a car. How do they sell any? I think Herb has gotten too big and needs a new system for tracking inventory.

I would say you are lucky to visit this site and view the customer’s views about these people. Unfortunately it is too late for me. I was there for state inspection for my 2006 Odyssey EX-L with Nav \ DVD. I went to check for the new honda pilot in the showroom. They gave price of $37640 for pilot ex-l with nav \ dvd and $24000 trade-in for Odyssey. I said I need time to decide and i will come tomorrow. Mr. SalesRep was scary and pushed me pay $1000 on my credit card. Mr. SalesRep gave me just the $1000 paid receipt and said the car should be ready in next 7 to 10 day. I gave a phone call next day and requested to cancel purchase. They asked me to come down to showroom and talk to General Manager. I went and requested Mr. Ed general manager and he asked me to talk to another Manager. I requested Mr. Manager and said I am also ready for $1000 as cancellation fee which i paid as a first payment. Mr. Manager said he will try and update next day after talking to his Manager. And next day they say they can't cancel and said car is ready to pick. Unfortunately it was closing time when I went to showroom and requested again which they rejected my request and gave a set of papers and New Car. I was home and read purchase contract where I read PURCHASER MAY CANCEL THIS CONTRACT AND RECEIVE A FULL REFUND AT ANY TIME UNTIL S/HE RECEIVES A COPY OF THIS CONTRACT SIGNED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER REPRESENTATIVE. PURCHAER MUST GIVE WRITTEN NOTICE OF CANCELLATION TO THE DEALER. I was totally surprised the way these people fooled me after my many requests. I still didn’t come out from the shock.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Boston:
I went here to buy an used Honda. I always saw commercials about Herb Chambers so I assume this was a respectful place. The environment created by the sales people is very stressful. The sales person who I dealt with was rude and very unprofessional. They will not let you leave and put you in an awkward position. The price of their cars were higher than other dealers but that is expected because it was located in the city. The sales person gave vague responses and laughs off serious questions about cars. BECAREFUL WHEN COMING HERE. Do not fall for their tricks. When trying to negotiate the pricing for a car, it is normal to lower the asking price one or two thousands. My sales person laughed and replied noone sells them at that price. Turns out Clair Honda had the same model for a grand lower. Come here if you are not easily persuaded and a good debater because you will be here for hours not looking for cars but just arguing about the price. Good luck in searching for your car, it is unlikely you will find it here.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Boston:
Went to the Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk recently. We eneded up purchasing a new 2007 Honda Civic EX-4 dr sedan. The sales experience went very well. We dealt with a saleswoman named Tracy. She was extremely helpful, nice and not pressuring at all. Sometimes it would take her a while to return phone calls, but if she said she was calling that day, we usually got a call. Everything went fine UNTIL the Finance manager got involved.

He was not mean or rude, but he was just "greasy". He gave us a really horrible APR (8.74%!) on a car loan even though we had very good (Tier 2) credit. When we said we were definitely not paying 8.74% interest... all of a sudden the rate magically came down to 7.74%, but he would "have to make a phone call".... Yeah right... To who?? To the freaking Federal Reserve Chairman?.. We saw right thru that and just felt like this guy should be plain with us and stop trying to wring every last dollar out of us (I know its a car dealership and thats how they make their money but its SO frustrating). We were both aware he makes money off of giving a higher interest rate, but honestly in this day and age, this form of sale will (hopefully) go extinct in favor of realistic customer-oriented sales.

ALSO.... Dont bother trading ANYTHING IN!! Like someone else on this mentioned, we were offered 1/6th of the value of the Kelley Blue Book for our fully functioning good condition vehicle. The Used Car Manager (Joe Vona) explained why, but we were still aware we were getting screwed regardless...

This dealership (aside from awesome sales girl, Tracy) is not recommended

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Boston:
Review:
When I purchased the car i was happy about the car that i was getting and had a relatively helpful sales person who told me about all of the quality checks that are performed on their cars before they go out the door because they stand by their cars 100 percent. Other than that i had to wait for an extraordinary amount of time even though i came in with a car chosen ready to buy check in hand. I had to wait for the used car manager when he was to tell me the value of my trade which he offered about 1/6 of what the max retail value on kbb.com was and less than a 1/2 of what the trade in value for a car in moderate or worse condition was. I then had a number of issues with the car some of which are things that should have been fixed during their "thorough" inspections. When I spoke with the used car manager he was rude and no help!

I would not go back to this dealership ever again. They are not helping me out even though within 6 months i will be spending over 1500 on repairs a number of which should have been done to the car before i drove it off the lot. They are not about the satisfaction of the customer but rather about profit and getting things their way. I did not feel like a valued customer. I felt as though they viewed me as someone to make money off of and not someone who they are doing a service for. On the other hand... the Burlington Herb Chambers honda has been excelent every time that i have gone there!

So many problems with this dealer... Sales team does not return phone calls promptly... Delivered car without taking care off items that they promised. Had to take the car back for completetion of sale agreement tasks and they kept my car for a week and half claiming they could not find a part. In reality what is was was and inhouse battle as to who was going to pay for it. Finally get the call to pixk up my car and still a few items that needed to be done where not complete... Awful place to do business with. I recommend anyone to stay away from Herb Chambers dealers... High Pressure and they dont come through.

I went to the Herbs Chambers Honda Dealer in Seekonk.
They were very attentive and friendly with me while negotiating and financing the car, however their afterservice was horrible.
The Business manager I dealt with was very unprofessional, telling me that I have nothing to worry about, that he'll call me first thing in the morning, etc. I couldn't get in contact with him all day after calling 10 times and leaving two messages. After several hours later, I finally got in contact and was told he'd call me after 10 minutes, obviously he didn't call me back. I had to file a complaint with the manager and talk to him to get what I needed. The service while purchasing the car is top notch, however the afterservice for this dealership is very unprofessional. If I knew about how I would be treated after buying a car from them, I would not use this dealership ever again.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Boston:
I called first thing in the morning to ask if they had what I wanted in stock. I was looking for a used automatic transmission Civic Sedan EX in black, silver or blue. The guy called me back about 30 minutes later and said they had a few. I went up there 5 hours later.

My first impression of the place was that it was so small! By their website, advertisments of being the BIGGEST Honda Dealership in New Englad.. Wow. There are 3 Honda Dealerships in RI much bigger than that place. They were stuffed between Herb Saturn and another make on the other side. The place was tiny!

As I pulled in, I noticed Tom the salesman hanging out in front of the door smoking a cigerette. Eww. I drove past him ignoring him while I went to go circle the tiny parking lot looking for the used lot. There was only about 4 in the front so I went to go check in back. Nope, those were all new.

The tiny parking lot was making me dizzy and Tom went through all the trouble of crossing the street to make sure he was on the driver's side so he could attempt to sell me a car. I open the window and he drops his ciggerte, blows out a huge nasty cloud of smoke and asks if he could help me. I told him I called and talked to Mike and he said there was an automatic EX but I didn't see it. Tom takes a look around the parking lot and said he knows his inventory and there was one. He didn't see it so he then does this weird head tilt and eye thing and says "I see you in an Accord!" I replied with "What are you psychic?". He laughed it off and was about to tell me how awesome an Accord was. The Accord is the best car Honda makes and something about it's cylenders. I cut him off and told him I knew what I wanted and that was the Civic. He then argues with me that I haven't even looked at it and suggested test driving. I said again that I knew what I wanted, I've done my research and this isn't the first time I've been to a Honda Dealership. He gave up and then says he's going to go inside to ask if anyone knew where the car was because it could be being serviced or on a testdrive. He goes in and gets a print out from their website with a Honda LX on it. I told him again that I wanted the EX, he tells me that the only difference is the Moonroof and I don't need one in the winter anyway. Wow. Just wow. Then he spent about 15 minutes trying to find it!! Nobody knew where that car was! They just knew that it wasn't sold!!! LOL. He even checked out the Saturn parking lot to see if it got misplaced. LOL. "Mike" couldn't be found either, he was paged twice but seemed to had drop off the face of the earth. I seriously couldn't believe any of this was happening. It was hilarious and annoying at the same time. Just unbelievable.

Yes, I don't need a moonroof and I look good in an Accord because that's the only freaking used cars they had!

Tom was polite and friendly otherwise. Just dumb. He just needs to lose the ciggs and lose the lame sales pitch lines. "I see you in.." HAHA.

No way will I ever be back to that dealership and I will tell others to stay away from it. All that trouble to find a car, I can't imagine the horrors of actually buying a car from them.

Interesting note: This happened last week and the mysteriously disapearing LX is still listed on their website. They dropped the price down too, probably because of the high mileage.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Boston:
Went to Herb Chambers Honda in Seekonk to 'look' at 4 Honda Civics listed on the site. Only 2 of them were there, they didn't know where the other two were. Never talked to my "salesman", he was too busy and hooked me up with an Intern, who didn't know the gas mileage for the Honda Civic. Proceeded to tell me that I belong in an Accord, not a Civic. Test drove 2 Civis with a Yellow Service tag on both stating " Just Serviced ". First Civic out of alignment, pulled to the right so bad had to go back. Second Civic had low air in the tires, and the steering shook badly. Went back. Third vehicle, keys were locked inside the vehicle. Couldn't get in. Poor service, poor salesman, poor everything. Whoever I talked to the pnone could care less about anything. I would never buy a car from this place, spent 4 hours doing nothing but finding their problems in their used vehicles for them. Worse dealership I've ever been to.

I bought my 2003 Accord EX V6 new from this dealership and had a good experience. I never went back there for service or complaints - I would probably be speaking differently now if I had - but at least the purchasing process went well. I saw the car on their web site at 3pm on a Friday and was driving it home at 7pm the same day. The price was competitive and I did not have to go through the 'let me ask my manager if I can go that low' BS. After almost 2 years and 30000 miles on it, we have not had even the most minor issue with the car (let me knock on wood here).

wanted 2002 acura rsx, they DID give me free spoiler, but my complaint is they would say they would call me back for stuff and they didn't, i had to keep callind them. plus after i paid cash for the car, i saw on internet they were asking $333 less than they quoted me on phone, and had to issue me a check. They did not go over the car properly, or they would've removed some paper and junk from glovebox from previous owner, and told me to get it registered befor they brought it to me, not realizing i had to have to title first. Dealer seemed rude at times, and NOT like the dealers i dealt with previously, who bend over backwards to please the buyer, it's too bad they had the color I wanted, or i definetly would've told them to stick it!

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Boston:
Buyers Beware.

I bought a 1999 Honda Accord DX with 52,000 miles for $9,999 from the dealership in April 2003. After driving for 2 to 3 months, I noticed the oil light went on and promptly checked its level. It was almost dry. I could not believe a Certified Pre-Owned 1999 Honda Accord with 52,000 miles that I bought at a respectable Honda dealership would be losing that much oil so quickly. I then made the mistake of not immediately contacting the dealership and decided to watch the oil level. After ascertaining the car definitively lost oil, I brought the car in to be examined. It was now after the 90 Day Warranty period for used cars. At the dealership I was told it was normal for a car to consume 1 quart of oil per 1000miles and I should engage in an oil consumption test...which I did. Now it is November. During the 3000 miles, the car consumed 5 quarts of oil. That is approximately 1.7 quarts of oil per 1000 miles.
Before telling them I wanted them to take on the responsiblity of paying for the repairs of the car I had asked them to determine the source of the oil leak. They found low compression and fouled spark plugs in two of the cylinders. How this car ever passed inspection or the Honda Certification process is beyond me. After I demanded some sort of retribution, diagnosing the engine problems suddenly appeared much more difficult. The most experienced mechanic examined the car for a day and decided the compression values were okay and I should return after 1000 miles. The Service Manager would make claims such as...600 miles per quart of oil was normal...or ...let's put a PCV valve and new spark plugs and see what happens.

In my final interactions with the dealership, the best offer they were willing to make is to me $5000 for the car as a trade-in (which I had just bought from them the previous April for $10,000) and sell me $13,000 Honda Accord for $11,000, the kind of deal anybody on the street with some savvy might earn. Basically I got screwed out of at least $3000 of money and they demonstrated really had no intention of rectifying any mistake they might have possibly made.
