A Sickly Smelling Car and A Rotten Solution I decided to purchase a second-hand car this year for some reason. What a mistake!!! I knew the car we purchased at the end of February 2020 had bee I decided to purchase a second-hand car this year for some reason. What a mistake!!! I knew the car we purchased at the end of February 2020 had been recently sprayed with some fragrance when I test drove it, but I thought the smell would dissipate. I liked the 2017 Honda Pilot,, which only had about 18,400 miles on it and thought it was a great deal. Now I realize why no-one else had purchased it. It smells, and this sweet, sickly smell makes me sick. When I called my salesperson, Fred Jones, to discuss this with him, he indicated there would be no problem with alleviating the smell. Because we were quarantined (due to my husband--a vet--being high-risk), Fred came to pick up the car and return it. The smell still exists. I don't know if some person or thing died in the car or if some animal lived in the car, but the smell is nauseating to me. When I explained this to Fred, he all but promised me that they would take care of the problem, even offering to bring to the house to show me a new 2020 Pilot that he said would only result in my having to pay the sales taxes on it since car prices had dropped and he could give me a good rebate, as I would be in the Loyalty (?) program, better than my going through the Costco program (which I mentioned to him I wanted to do). Thinking the deal was about wrapped up, I met him today and his boss(?) who never introduced himself and whose picture does not appear on the list below. Fred's name is not listed either. Prior to this meeting, Fred had told me that he had already spoken with his supervisor who had agreed that they could get me into another car (a 2020 Pilot). So, I chose not to go via Costco but with the Honda dealer here in Fort Myers, FL. Yet, the best they could do was to put us into a new 2020 Pilot (and some color I did not want) and INCREASE OUR MONTHLY PAYMENTS BY OVER $300.00 and EXTEND THE PAYMENT TO 84 MONTHS. Outrageous!!! I had explained over and over to Fred that I could not afford to increase my monthly payments nor the extension time to pay, and he noted that he would help me maintain that monthly payment, except I would have to pay around #1500 in sales tax. I agreed to that. So why lead me on and on and continue to perpetuate a lie when one knows he cannot deliver? Unbelievable. Consequently, I am stuck with this sickly smelling car until I make a sizable payment on it (which I intend to do as soon as I can this year) and trade it in--this time for a NEW car at a trusted dealership. More
All very nice people.. Vitaly helped alot and was very kind. Only issue i was told to come in for detailing since car wasnt cleaned and waited 2 hours. When the car was done it had not been touch at all.. kind. Only issue i was told to come in for detailing since car wasnt cleaned and waited 2 hours. Basically i didn't ask for the detailing it was offered but instead went to have my time wasted. Someone called and asked me about my visit and i told them the same nobody reached back out to me. Salesperson was great. Other than that, I don’t feel like the rest of the team would stop long enough to listen to me. The finance guy DID NOT go over anything. My family recently purchased vehicles with JR’s assistance. I’m 55, over my life span I have purchased multiple vehicles. I have dealt with some kind and professional staff but never like JR, he assistance. I’m 55, over my life span I have purchased multiple vehicles.
