HUMBLE HYUNDAI, NORTH FREEWAY HYUNDAI AND BAYTOWN HYUNDAI BBB F RATINGS WARNING FROM BBB: CURRENT ALERTS FOR THIS BUSINESS: Pattern of Complaint: Since July 2022, the BBB of Greater Houston & South Texas BBB F RATINGS WARNING FROM BBB: CURRENT ALERTS FOR THIS BUSINESS: Pattern of Complaint: Since July 2022, the BBB of Greater Houston & South Texas has received several complaints and customer reviews on Humble Hyundai that exhibit the following patterns. According to the consumer’s disputes, it is being alleged that Humble Hyundai will negotiate pricing but once the consumer arrives at the dealership the price is higher than agreed upon. Also, per consumer’s disputes, it is being alleged that the dealership is including add-ons during the financing phase without prior knowledge. Some consumers are reporting that they are unsuccessful in reaching the finance department to cancel warranties. Per one consumer's complaint, they were told it is a requirement to have the extra warranty ($1897) in order to purchase the car. When they checked the paperwork, the add-ons were voluntary and not mandatory. They feel the company is utilizing deceptive practices to force consumers to buy extras. Do not buy or deal with these dealerships before reading the reviews on the BBB and on-line. Be forewarned that several customers report that they are manipulated in giving the dealerships a high rating in exchange for a free service. If the reviewer does not across the board give high marks, the offer for the free service is reneged. So be wary of any high marks. The three dealerships are owned by Paul Peebles. The General Manager at Humble Hyundai is John Kay and the Fixed Ops Director at the three dealerships is Tim Shipe. Rather than honor my safety recall appointment of three weeks, I was told that I needed to return because the part was not available and that customers need to come in first to have their VIN number and odometer photographed before the recall part can be ordered. Total xx. They then give you a 21-point inspection list of REQUIRED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION items: brake flush 169.95; fuel injection cleaning service 179.95; engine coolant 159.95; transmission fluid change 331.37; and most incredibly, an alignment of 119.95 for tire damage and abnormal wear [for 4 one-month old tires with alignment done at time of purchase]. $1,040.64 worth of unnecessary repairs. I was then put on a DO NOT SERVICE list at the three dealerships closest to my home - because I became upset when I was lied to and made to waste my time and work. Mr. Shipe was quite smug when he told me that I was banned from ever getting service at the Baytown, Humble and North Freeway dealerships. He did not realize that I am informed consumer. This is a safety recall and one which these individuals are not addressing as required by federal regulations. They have no regard for customer's safety, time or money. More
I've been dealing with significant frustration over the past two years at Humble Hyundai regarding my 2016 Sonata's oil consumption issue. Initially working with a service advisor who was later terminated only added to the problems. Despite diligently participating in an oil consumption test, I was shocked to be told in October that I needed to restart the process due to its duration. The dealership's communication has been consistently misleading, promising steps like combustion cleaning and engine replacement if the issue persisted, only to backtrack later. After leaving my car with them for 13 days, I called for an update and was informed by Richard that I needed a new engine, but the claim was never submitted. The cost estimate provided, exceeding eight thousand dollars, was disheartening. The lack of transparency and failure to honor commitments have severely impacted my perception of this dealership's integrity and customer service. I regretfully conclude that I cannot recommend Humble Hyundai to others based on my experience. The miscommunication, unfulfilled promises, and lack of honesty from the service department have left me with a sense of betrayal. This ordeal has tarnished my view of Hyundai as a brand, and I am now reluctant to consider another purchase from them in the future. More
Absolutely the worst customer service in service, service manager Richard is unprofessional. Told my daughter drove into a ditch, and flood her car that’s why the faulty engine had water in it, absolutely z manager Richard is unprofessional. After months without any communication on the vehicle without us calling repeatedly, engine replaced under warranty, no rental. Daughter leaves and realizes her vehicle windshield is cracked, call immediately, Richard claims he will check the video, never receive a call. Call to follow up, she needs to bring the car by for him to look at, he claims it’s a rock chip. Called the GM at the sister store, doesn’t return phones calls or text communication system they utilize. Will never, ever utilize dealership or service again!!! The salesman, Tanner, was slick and sneaky when closing out deal. As we waited for the car to be cleaned and handed over to us, he gave us a huge piece of paper that contained answers he wanted us to to us out deal. In return, he promised to give us $100. He even shook our hands. That was a scam. It’s been over 6 months, and we still don’t have the $100. He has probably done this many times. Now he has been promoted! Beware! More
