I traded my 2012 Silverado 4x4 , ( which I purchased there brand new), in on my new 20 I have purchased many vehicles from the Jeff Wyler auto group. Dealership full of misogynistic good old boys who hate women I moved to Cincinnati in 2006, and picked Jeff Wyler as my dealer of choice when I bought my first new car up here. I moved to Kentucky about 4 years I moved to Cincinnati in 2006, and picked Jeff Wyler as my dealer of choice when I bought my first new car up here. I moved to Kentucky about 4 years ago, and even though I was in a different state, went back to them again for my 2nd car purchase up here in 2012. After receiving a multitude of unsolicited calls and emails from salesman Brandon Lenhart, I went back yet again during Labor Day weekend looking to upgrade my 2012 Camaro to one of the 2014s they had in stock. This time I was not so happy. I was treated like a dumb girl who knew nothing about buying cars. Even knowing that I came prepared, with Consumers Reports documentation, and after repeatedly stating that I would base my decision on car price and not be tricked by just looking at car payment amount, each time they brought me a new printout, the full retail price of the car was listed, and included extra warranty and paint protection - which I'd already stated I would not be buying. Not once did they drop the price of the car from full retail. At the time there were 89 2014 camaros listed online between here and the Columbus location, yet they thought they could convince me to buy a car at full price with a bunch of extras too - during a Labor Day sale. The ONLY concession they gave me was the 0% financing. But the last option presented to me still had not reduced the price of the car at all, and still had the extras included. They had just spread the payments out a year longer than I had said I wanted. I guess they thought I was really so stupid I wouldn't notice that they had not given me a thing I had asked for. It was so bad that after 2 hours of this treatment, I ended up causing a scene in the showroom and left. I don't know if it's just the Chevrolet guys, or their entire staff these days, but if they will treat a multiple purchasing repeat customer this way, I can't imagine how bad they'd treat some poor woman off the street. I posted about my experience on their facebook page. In response I was asked to provide my contact info stating someone would contact me. After not hearing from anyone for 3 days I posted again. An additional two days later I finally received a phone call from Gene Strauss. We reached an agreement over the phone. He said he was going to go 'put his hands on the car' as soon as we hung up to get it ready, and I was to pick it up the next day, dealing with his son Ketchell. Ketchell was perfectly nice to me. He did not check out the car ahead of time to get it ready. It actually had a ding in it what wasn't brought to my attention until I came to pick up the car. Had I been notified in advance, it could have been repaired before pickup. Instead I had to arrange for it to be repaired after the fact. While waiting for the finance paperwork, I went to put some information in the glove box and found the window sticker to the car, which had not been posted ON the car as it should have been - in fact I think posting the sticker is law. Anyway - At that point I discovered that the original salesman had lied to me. He told me the car had all season tires on it, but it in fact had summer tires, which I did not want. The Sales manager on duty stated all of their camaros were ordered that way, so it sure doesn't seem like an honest mistake, rather an outright lie. Ketchell stated he could do nothing about tires, so I decided I would contact Gene to see about getting a dealer price on some tires after the fact. I could not reach Mr. Strauss for a week, but finally did. In our conversation he asked me to send him the tire sizes via text which I did. A week later he sent me a one sentence text saying "I'm working on it.". Another week went by without hearing anything, so I contacted him again checking on it. He did eventually respond, at which point he stated you no longer had a relationship with Tire Discounters. He did not offer any other option, or offer to help me get tires through anyone else. He in fact actually suggested I "find some inexpensive tires" as a solution. So after going ahead and buying the car in good faith knowing I had been lied to, I really thought Mr. Strauss would take care of the situation. I did not expect free tires - just some purchased at a discounted rate since the car didn't have the tires on it I was told it did. That doesn't seen unreasonable to me. My first car buying experience with them was wonderful. My 2nd car buying experience wasn't great, but it wasn't nearly the disaster this last one has been. This time around I'm convinced it's at the very least the entire Chevrolet section of the dealership. This seems to be standard operating procedure, and no one seems to care. Their salesmen and sales managers are misogynistic good old boys who seem to feel disdain working with women. After purchasing a total of 3 new vehicles from Jeff Wyler, I will never buy another one from this dealership. Ever. I hate that I've given them my hard earned money on this last purchase. I will state that the service department over the years has been wonderful. The sales team is horrible, but the guys in Service are wonderful. Just don't try to buy anything from them if you're a woman unless you want to spend way more than you should. As a final insult, someone called me weeks later to check to see how satisfied I was, and left a voice mail to 'Mr. & Mrs. ___'... The deal was in my name only, but the caller assumed a man had to be involved. Just horrible. More
