I’m the type of person that owns a vehicle for 10+ years, so finding one that I like and a dealership I can work with are important. I’ve had my current vehicle for 13 years. The salesman at the Ford deale so finding one that I like and a dealership I can work with are important. I’ve had my current vehicle for 13 years. The salesman at the Ford dealership was very helpful and personable and that caused me to stop there first on quest for my new vehicle. Unfortunately, Ford didn’t have anything to offer me, since I was looking for a small 4x4 that would pull a boat and I wasn’t interested in another truck at this time. I immediately thought of a Jeep Wrangler, but I had a horrible experience with their sales staff. The Jeep was unable to pull my 2,740 boat, yet they hounded me multiple times a day stating it would be able to handle the job and not to worry about it. Between the calls and emails, I just had enough. I stopped at Dub Richardon Toyota to look at a Tacoma and while there was introduced to the FJ Cruiser. I’ve seen them before, but didn’t know much about them. My salesman, David, was very helpful and even offered to allow me to take a test drive. I loved it, and left the dealership with a brochure and a warm feeling. I wasn’t followed to my vehicle like I was with the other dealership. Nobody hounded me, and when I returned a couple of days later I was greeted with a smile and handshake. I looked at the FJ again and just knew it was the vehicle for me. The only problem now was I didn’t want the color selection that was available on the lot, so they offered to search for what I was interested in. They found a manifest that stated they’d get an army green FJ in just two weeks. They then suggested that I could have it modified to my liking with port installed options. It would have been easy for them to just dismiss me (what I would have considered a high maintenance shopper), but they didn’t. The truck was ordered and when delivered I was treated as I was all along, with a smile and handshake. Everyone from the salesman to the sales manager to the financial officer was very nice to me and took very good care of me. Will I buy another Toyota again? Only if I could do it through Dub Richardson Toyota. Other dealerships should learn through my experience and drop the lines, “what can I do to get you in this vehicle today” or “how can I earn your business”. Nothing frustrates a potential buyer more than to be pressured into buying something. You may ask what my feelings are or what I’m thinking, but don’t open my wallet. I didn’t get that at Dub Richardson Toyota and am extremely grateful. More
