Pat made sure I had a tour of the dealership and met the service manager. Great people and splendid treatment. I encourage anyone looking for a vehicle, get there. You will love the treatment. More
I expect greed in this business but these people will lie to your face. These characters would be almost comical stereotypes if they didn't hurt people. If you have to deal with Hinderer: First make s to your face. These characters would be almost comical stereotypes if they didn't hurt people. If you have to deal with Hinderer: First make sure you know the "Blue Book" value of the car you are interested in. Make sure every promise they make is detailed in the contract exactly. Also, I would refuse to sign any contact that contains unexplained charges. They will try to charge you a service fee, which is limited by Ohio law to $250.00. This is a bogus charge that does not reflect their costs. If you pay it, negotiate it off the price of the car. Also check out their rating with the BBB (F). I'm surpised a company like Honda, which has an awesome product, would have anything to do with these guys. Really its best to just avoid this den of thieves. More
We did end up purchasing our 2008 CR-V from this dealership, but we walked out with a good deal on it and with the promise of free tires after 60,000 miles. It is yet to be said about the tires, an dealership, but we walked out with a good deal on it and with the promise of free tires after 60,000 miles. It is yet to be said about the tires, and you must have them rotated with them every 5,000 miles ($20). I would warn you about this dealership to come prepared (and this goes for talking to any car salesman). They will try to pressure you to buy and sign papers before even showing you any price. This is how I dealt with them. I called several dealerships before going to John Hinderer. Most dealerships WILL give you the dollar amount on their cars. I absolutely refused to sign anything until I was ready to purchase. The employee got gruff and said that no one has ever done that before, but who cares! When he did show me the numbers, I had my own paperwork from other dealerships who were promising a better deal. From there, you have the power to tell them to give you the car for a better deal, or you walk The idea is to stay in control of the situation at all times. One other thing I did was that I also secured my own financing before walking in the door. These people are shady, and had I known that when I was purchasing the car I would not have bought from them. However, I am VERY satisfied with my vehicle and the purchase price. More

Everything there regulates the business laws I learned in class, I def would broadcast their bad reputation around OSU Columbus campus and make them lose business!!!! More
We were having the oil changed and a minor warranty problem addressed in our Odyssey. A 2009 Honda Odyssey EX-L in the color we liked was in stock and I decided to see if I could afford it. James (the problem addressed in our Odyssey. A 2009 Honda Odyssey EX-L in the color we liked was in stock and I decided to see if I could afford it. James (the Internet Manager)whom I saw without an appointment was knowledgeable and polite - there was a short trade-in negotiation process. Pat the 'New Car Sales Director' (my other contact) was courteous and direct. There are no arrogant snobs in this dealership! The total time spent at the dealership trading in for a new car was 2 hours. This the 6th Honda we have purchased from this dealership More
The last 3 times I have had dealings with them they have given BAD customer service. I would not have been there this time had it not been on the behalf of a family member. We just got back from this place and they are terrible. We went to see a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was posted online. I called ahead to make sure they still had it and they said yes and they would have it We went to see a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was posted online. I called ahead to make sure they still had it and they said yes and they would have it all ready to test drive. We got there (about a 40 minute drive) only to have the salesperson walk us around the lot and try to sell us everything but what we came to look at. He kept trying to sell us a Pontiac Vibe dispite us saying we werent interested in it about 4 times. After a 20 minute walk around the lot he told us he didnt know where the Jeep was (how do you lose a car??) and continued to try and sell us something that we did not want, nor afford. To make a long story short, these guys are total scammers. Doing a search on them has brought up mutliple complaint sites. I wish I would have found those sites before I wasted 2 hours of my life and $15 in gas. More
The dealer had one of those additional stickers that included overpriced floor mats, mud guards and cargo net. That's bad enough, but at some point they removed the mats and net, saying I hadn't actuall included overpriced floor mats, mud guards and cargo net. That's bad enough, but at some point they removed the mats and net, saying I hadn't actually paid for them. The general manager would not return my calls. Check out their "F" rating at the BBB with the link below. These guys have not responded to a complaint in two years. They do not give fair value for your trade. When you purchase a car from them, they praise the car for its great trade-in value....and then///what a joke. They try to hold you hostage until you sign a purchase a car from them, they praise the car for its great trade-in value....and then///what a joke. They try to hold you hostage until you sign a deal. The Dad (John SR.)would go nuts if he realized how many people his son and his "sharks" actually send to Columbus for their veicle. My salesman in Columbus said he sells more cars due to the way Hinderer treats their potential customers. He has so many stories about the Newark dealership he could write a book. More
