My Review of Lexus of Charleston:
Wanted a new CT200h and found one on the lot "fresh off the truck". Paid a deposit and scheduled a test drive after prep. Salesman refused to call if there was a problem with my planned overnight test drive. GM insisted I pay full price with only a 30 minute test drive.

I should have kept the car entagled for a while but instead took my money and left. NEVER to return!

Dear Chucktown_John: We are always concerned when a customer has an experience they feel was unsatisfactory, as we strive to make every customer feel welcomed, accommodated and 100% satisfied with their experience at Lexus of Charleston. We believe this complaint comes from a first time customer who visited our Dealership in late February looking for a CT200h. The CT200h is so popular that we did not have one in stock at the time; we were awaiting the imminent arrival of this model. We assured the customer we would contact him right away when one became available. We did so, and he returned to try it out. Our understanding at the time was that he wanted to take the car to test drive over an entire weekend prior to making a purchase decision. We are unable to loan our vehicles out to first time prospective buyers for that length of time. My Review of Lexus of Charleston:
This was the best car buying experience I ever had. The salesman was very informative and very friendly. I ususually don't care for the finance department but Emily was great. She was also very informative and very easy to talk to. I will definitely recommend Lexus of Charleston to anyone I know that wants to buy a car. I enjoy driving my RX350 and I am very happy with my car purchase and the employees at Lexus of Charleston.

My Review of Lexus of Charleston:
My experience working with Michael was exemplary. We were surprised to find the perfect auto for us in "stock". Given the short amount of time available to us before a medical appointment at MUSC, Michael explained the features of the auto that most puzzled us and then sent us on our way to our medical appointment. Upon our return, Michael explained in more detail the auto's features, explained how we could "reserve" the vehicle while we "made up our mind" to buy. Without any pressure, he made us very much aware and comfortable with the entire operation at the dealership. We have had follow-up questions that were very satisfactorily answered. Overall, a very [pleasant experience.

My Review of Lexus of Charleston:
We met Pat last fall (2011) when having our ES330 serviced. At that time, we were considering buying a new Lexus (it would be our 4th) and Pat took the time to go over in detail the RX350. We contacted Pat in February and felt we wanted to seriously consider buying the RX350. Pat could not have been more knowledgeable about the car and professional in our meeting. We did purchase the car and because we live a considerable distance from Charleston (about 85 miles), Pat even delivered the car to us. Not only that, he spent about 3 hours going over the car with us so that we would have a complete understanding on all of its features. he also called us twice after that to see if we had any questions or if there is anything else he could do for us.

Pat was terrific and made the car-buying experience actually enjoyable! We highly recommend Pat Welsh and Lexus of Charleston.

My Review of Lexus of Charleston:
I also went to this dealearship to have repairs done on my 99 Lexus rx 300 was charged a diagnostic fee and told that my electrical problem was the result of a aftermarket radio or tracking device.. I still have the original radio, not aftermarket and my car has never had a tracking device.. most of all when I went to pick up my vehicle I notice a plastic peice laying on the seat and my dashboard broken I brought to their attention before I left only to have them deny it. I originally did not understand why they was denying such a small problem,that was obvious they broke cosidering they left the evidence on the seat, but I later found out that the entire dashboard would have to be replace as a result of there mistake. what I thought would be under $50 for a plastic peice turn to over 1400 for a new dashboard.. I am taking them to court in the near future, they cannot contuine treating customeres in this manner.. Buyer Beware. My reason for giving such a low rating specifically is because i payed a disgnostic fee and lexus of chalreston expected to get more money out of me for telling me what i already knew was wrong with my car and they also get a low reason for breaking my dashboard which caused my car to decrease and value and they are claiming it was pre existing.

Certainly, we are very concerned when anyone feels that they have had an unsatisfactory experience at our Dealership, and welcome the opportunity to clarify and explain our understanding of events in the very rare instances this occurs. Based upon a review of our records and after carefully considering the remarks in this review, this sounds identical to a case presented to our Service Department in July of 2011, which was also reported to the State of South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs re: her statements in 2011. It involved a Lexus with 186,000 miles on it that, according to the information we had at the time, and had not been serviced by a Lexus Dealership since 2002. She drove the vehicle in to our Service Department after contacting her insurance company because of water leaks her mechanic thought were affecting the electrical systems. The vehicle was thoroughly inspected by a Lexus Master Certified Technician, and we discovered the following: The car was a total repaint (the sunroof was painted closed) with missing electrical components in the vehicle (sunroof open/close master switch was completely gone). Our technician investigating the problem found an unorganized mess of aftermarket wires all shoved up into the dash. We respectfully declined going any further with this vehicle and charged her appropriately for the minimum time we had involved. It is unfortunate that the car was in an irreparable state. In our best professional judgment, this was the case due to the cost of repairs exceeding the value of the vehicle itself, and we stand behind that assessment. All of this was covered with her in our response to her original complaint to Consumer Affairs.

If, by some remote chance, this is a different complaint than the one described herein, then we are totally unaware of the circumstances and would be happy to investigate it.
