Clean, friendly, convenient online scheduling, nice lobby with coffee bar and snacks. Waiting for service took too long. Had a 9:15am oil change and my vehicle was not complete until noon. The link sent as a text to check status of my vehicle wasn’t accurate, needs to be in real time. Seemed delayed as my service provider would tell me my vehicle was almost done but the link would say my vehicle was currently being inspected. Weird. My service advisor works a bit too fast, rushes through his work and made a typographical error with the mileage on my car after I checked in. This caused me much anxiety and despair after I picked it up, 4 days later. While driving home, my odometer read 27,806 but my paperwork read 27,541 when I dropped it off. This led me to believe that someone drove my car excessively (265 miles to be exact) while my water pump was being replaced. Spoke with Service Manager and Service Advisor to inquire about the difference in mileage. Ended up, Service Advisor took ownership to his mistake with keying in the wrong mileage at the time of drop off and offered me a free full detailing service for the inconvenience and the worry he caused. Also did not like the fact that when asked if I could see the old part or even have the old part to take home, I was told by my service advisor that they don’t give the old parts back to the owners. Somehow I find that hard to believe, as they should have at least shown me where the part was damaged (water pump had a crack or a leak) and I feel they should be required to give the old parts back to owners. I am disappointed with the used Lexus RX350 I purchased from Lexus of Sacramento. It has a mechanical defect that was not noticed during the test drive. Lexus of Sacramento did attempt to repair it, but it’s worse now, and at times rattles the trim inside the cab. I drove the car with the shop foreman at Lexus of Sacramento twice who now says the vibration is normal. I got a second opinion at Elk Grove Toyota, and they confirmed my concern and stated in writing that the vibration is not normal. Lexus of Sacramento will not recognize the issue therefore refusing to address and repair it. The service department at Lexus of Sacramento is chaotic. They do not answer the phone and do not respond to messages. Getting timely updates is impossible. I have opened a case with Lexus corporation and will be taking the car to another Lexus dealership. This will be my fifth trip to the shop for this issue. I understand that used cars come with wear and tear, but they should not come with an undisclosed mechanical defect, especially if you are buying a Lexus at Lexus. If you buy a used Lexus at Lexus of Sacramento, it should be mechanically sound, and if not, it should be taken care of by Lexus of Sacramento. Bottom line, Lexus of Sacramento does not thoroughly and effectively inspect the used vehicles they take in, and they do not stand behind them after the sale. Instead, I received generic, scripted replies and repeated “we’re checking” updates over multiple days. I followed up several times and still didn’t get the price sheet, a clear answer, or a timeline. What makes this worse: this isn’t a one-off. Based on past in-person visits where I also received no real help, this dealership consistently falls short on basic customer service and follow-through. Other dealers provided Costco pricing immediately. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend Lexus of Sacramento. More
