Never had a more disheartening experience trying to purchase a used vehicle from James at Linwood. Went to dealership with all intentions of purchasing a used Buick. My daughter and I were disrespected purchase a used vehicle from James at Linwood. Went to dealership with all intentions of purchasing a used Buick. My daughter and I were disrespected and told "this isn't the vehicle for you" because we looked over the car to pinpoint what was wrong with it to know exactly what we were buying. James told my daughter we "nit picked" the vehicle and didn't appreciate everything they had done for us when all we asked for was a fair purchase price, a test drive, and to have it lifted to look underneath the car for rust or damage. James said they lost money by letting us test drive car and looking at it on rack. Was told the driver headlight was not flush with the bumper because that happens "naturally." James argued with my daughter in the front of the dealership to the point where another customer came up to her and told her she felt terrible for what we went through and suggested Dwain Taylor in Murray. Buyer beware they do not want you to know what you're buying they get angry if you ask questions basically talked us out of the deal because as James said "$20k isn't a big investment." read less More
The service dept did an incomplete diagnostic before just changing out parts. I was charged $1,310 for a DEF pump only to be told that the problem with the newly installed pump was that the ECM was bad .... changing out parts. I was charged $1,310 for a DEF pump only to be told that the problem with the newly installed pump was that the ECM was bad ...... for another $1,510 ..... I was also told the Nox2 sensor was bad ..... but after taking it to another Chevrolet dealership I was assured that the Nox2 sensor was functioning properly. I tired calling the General manager, Mr. Rick Kupper several times and he refused to speak to me about my concerns. I emailed him “Mr Kupper. I have tried several times to discuss my concerns with the service I have received from your Service Department. I would like to explain my concerns, get some answers and get your personal assurances that the work done to date … and the newly identified and proposed fixes are accurate and complete ….. and I’d like to get your personal word on a full warranty. I’d like to get my truck fixed ….. after we have an opportunity to meet. I have tried to discuss these things in a calm, businesslike, professional, and Christian manner. I hope that you would be amenable to meeting with me. Respectfully, Dan Lynn. 2 March 2023” and again, he refused to meet with me or to discuss my issues. In my humble opinion (IMHO), I was sold parts I didn't need. IMHO there are two possible explanations for this: 1. The Linwood motors technician DID NOT DO A THOROUGH DIAGNOSTICS prior to replacing parts. If a thorough and proper diagnostic had been done, the ECM issue would have been found first. 2. The Linwood team knew that if they replaced the pump for $1,310 knowing the ECM was truly the problem, they could then charge me another $1,510 for the ECM thus doubling their profit. The refusal of the General Manager Mr. Kupper to meet with or speak with me leads me to believe that he knew I wasn't being treated fairly. More
