OUR HISTORY
Walt DeBoer founded Lithia Motors in 1946 as a Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge dealership in Ashland, Oregon. Following Walt’s death in 1968, Walt’s son Sid along with Dick Heimann, grew the business to include 5 stores and 19 franchises in Southern Oregon. In December 1996, this collection of dealerships was transformed into Lithia Motors, Inc., a publicly traded company (NYSE stock symbol-LAD). We envisioned a company that would continuously grow, provide great customer service, and opportunities for employees.
TODAY
Lithia is one of America’s largest automotive retailers featuring most domestic and import franchises. Our stores serve urban and rural populations throughout the Western and Midwest United States.
We are focused on providing customers with an honest and simpler buying and service experience. We are giving customers straightforward information so that they can make confident decisions.
We believe that our local communities are our lifeblood. In addition to the employment opportunities we provide in each of our neighborhoods, we also provide contributions to charitable organizations that serve our families, friends, and customers.

Took care of all my needs I knew I was going to buy a car in the future, yet I had no idea the future would be that soon. We were greeted as soon as we entered the lot and were LUCKY to meet JJ. He was professional and made the process of buying a car easy. If I had to buy a car again he would be the person I would want to take care of my needs. Since we were buying the car out of state there was additional paperwork we needed to complete. I had to make a few calls and send emails to get a response to questions I had, but once JJ was aware he took care of all of my questions the same day. If your going to buy a car go see JJ he is completely one top of things. More

My interest was the new Ionic and at the time of my initial visit, I was able to test drive the new Hyundai Ionic. Upon making my decision, the vehicle I test drove had been sold and I needed to wait until the next shipment arrived. Richard called me on several occasions to keep me informed of the delivery schedule. My purchase went smoothly. Richard introduced me to Matthew Franceschini, service advisor, who was also friendly and professional. My first service appointment was made and I am extremely happy with the service that I received. I highly recommend the new Hyundai Ionic Hybrid and the Lithia Reno Hyundai dealership. More
